World Championships - Oct. 20-28

Rashidov techs Lomtadze from Georgia 10-0 in other 61kg semi. A lot of people had Rashidov as the surest gold medal bet in any weight class.

Chamizo Sidakov. US now in odd position of needing a Russian win to pull JB back in.
Not much going on through the first 1:30, Chamizo on the clock.
1-0 Sidakov, who beat Chamizo recently.
Chamizo in on a shot but did he score in time? Looks like no. 1-0 at break.
Unreal defense by Sidakov on an attempted throw-by by Chamizo. 2:14 remaining.
Sidakov on clock now, and it's tied with Chamizo ahead on criteria. 1:20 remaining.
Both guys with whizzers but Sidakov gets behind and is up 3-1 with :42 left.
Chamizo changing levels but only gets a pushout. It'll end 3-2 Sidakov and Burroughs is puled back in.

Dang. Burroughs vs Gomez will be hard to watch. Gotta go for the champ though.

Probably not great that Sidakov, Chamizo, and Burroughs were all on the same side of the bracket. Burroughs will wrestle Franklin Gomez for the opportunity to wrestle for bronze.

The Gomez vs Burroughs is bittersweet. Going USA, for sure, though after knowing Franklin from the day he arrived with the NLWC, I can say there’s not a nicer guy in the club.

If DT makes the finals he'll face Faith Erdin from Turkey.

DT up now against Russia's Kurugliev.
Both guys not really looking to tie up, keeping distance.
DT pushes out, up 1-0.
Kurugliev gets to a leg but can only get a pushout. Tied 1-1.
DT in on a shot but Kurugliev gets away, kicking DT in the face. DT staggers and burns some injury time.
Kurugliev converts a single, but can't turn. He's up 3-1.
Lots of hands to the face by Kurugliev,
Kurugliev gets behind and gets the two, up 5-1 at break.
DT gets right in on a leg and converts it, now 5-3.
DT again on a leg but Kurugliev stuffs it, spins out.
DT again on a leg and they're scrambling. DT up now 5-5.
Not much going on with :30 remaining.
DT gets in on both legs and converts! He's going to the finals! 7-5.

Thanks for the PBP, I watched the stick figures on Track. I bought Track for watching Jrs., woke at 4:30 today to watch, but first read the posts and decided wasn't worth it. Dont like to pay to get frustrated.

Congratulations to NLWC on their finalist!

Go David!
