Nice to see Nico’s name. It has been a while since he competed. Anyone know his last freestyle competition?
2019 world team challenge tournament? He lost to Tyler Graff in the 61 kg finals. Graf then beat Joe Colon at final x to win the world team spot. I can't swear to it, but that's the last time I remember Nico competing. He was planning to drop back to 57 kg for the Olympic trials but got hurt, if I remember correctly

I thought about Nico while reading the PSU wrestling directors job but quickly put that to rest. He’d have to move back out to State College and almost assuredly have to take a huge pay cut.

So far:

Burroughs into the finals
McKenna pulled into repecharge, Nico waiting for that after losing his quarter. McFadden needs Chance to win.

Marsteller and Green wresting in semis soon
Hall (I think), Oliver, Ashnault and Henderson are out.

Edit: Marky is done. Bekzod is up and actually took out the Georgian who beat Mark.

Upcoming bouts for USA;

McKenna vs ROU in Repechage. (NOTE: McKenna gets the fall and will wrestle for Bronze.)
Nico vs Iranian for Bronze
Green vs Iranian for Gold
Burroughs vs Marsteller for Gold/Silver

Unless I missed something, this is it for the USA.

Nico up next on Mat A. Not sure how long the current delay/intermission will be.

11:53, and they are on the mat.

International guys aren't used to someone as wily as Nico, they think they can get that turn when he gets in on your legs but Nico is so good at working through that position. Yakhkeshi appears to be stronger than Nico though and has three stepouts that Nico is unable to stop for a 3-2 lead at the break.

Two TDs now to four stepouts with a minute remaining, Nico leads 4-4. And another TD with under :15 left gives Nico the bronze, 6-4. Iran hit with a caution, not sure why, but big congrats to Nico. Real nice job.

Mat assignments;
McKenna vs KGZ for Bronze - Mat A, up next
Green vs Iranian for Gold - Mat B (all Gold Medal matches are on B)
Burroughs vs Marsteller for Gold/Silver - Mat B
