Wow, you packed a lot of rationales into one post. This was a horrific coaching performance. The only one of those plays that made sense was the punt from our end zone, but our special teams are so poorly coached it didn't matter.

PSU was manhandled on both sides of the LOS. UM is by far the better team.

Sadly, most folks in college football think we deserve it. And that's the way the game is played these days. One reason I'm not as much a CFB fan as I used to be.

Like Farmer a lot at OLB. Smith is a good MLB glad he can start next week. Cooper and Johnson have a long way to go. I didn't see second half but Manny seemed absent in the first half.

Burn any redshirt necessary to get to 6-7 wins and be as competitive as possible. Still hoping for diversity in the run game! Some new stuff each week but painfully slow to add!

The head coach doesn't tell the returner whether to bring it out of the endzone... The punt to Peppers from the endzone was a good one, and much better than a block for a TD or safety. Going for it on 4th down is always a crap shoot and never predictable. Franklin knew that he has to get something going or the team would be steamrolled. Would punting have impacted the score at all? I don't think so. You could argue that he should have gone for the 4th and goal, but Barkley was banged up and out of the game. That may have caused the time out as well.

What the heck are you talking about???? A good coach tells his KO returners to stand at the goal line and if it's over their heads, either down it or let it go out of the end zone. You get it on the 25 now. Why the crap start out the game like we did with horrible field position because of a stupid penalty????
