Shots fired by crybaby Manning

Drinks are on Pennstate1985, In Philly Bud heavies should be around $12 ea.
As a representative of the media you need to do what’s expected of you and bankrupt him @smalls103
My brain is already bankrupt from the media. My wallet needs to die as well?

I can't recall the last time I bought a 4% beer. I normally start at 9%. Any Belgian/specialty beer bars in Philly?

Prob my favorite bar/restaurant in Center City

Edit: hadn’t seen El-Jefe’s post, but couldn’t agree more. Was pitching this place a month ago as a place to connect next year during NCAAs

In Philly, you have to go for the Citywide. A shot of Jim Beam and a PBR pounder for anywhere from $3 to $5 depending on the bar. About 50 bars in the city participate so take advantage!

Note: some bars give a 12 oz PBR, I've heard, but never actually seen.

You keep pointing out Monk's, so Monk's it is. Is it reasonably close to the venue?
The venue is not close to much nightlife with few exceptions. Stay in Center city and ride the subway to the venue. Bob and Barb's is a bar to hang out and drink. The Citywide there is usually $4. Check their events before you go to be sure nothing crazy is going on before you go. You may also want to go to McGillins, which is the oldest continually operating bar in Philadelphia. An Irish bar that still draws the locals.

There are only a very few walkable options from the arena:
- Xfinity Live in the stadium complex
- whatever bar at the casino beyond the baseball stadium parking lots (about a mile from the arena)
- Chickies' & Pete's sports bar, also about a mile away (also you'd have to cross stadium traffic in the lots and on Broad St) -- it's a very popular regional chain and will be packed to the gills during the NCAA Basketball tournament
- There's an upscale pub near the Navy Yard entrance, but you'd have to walk thru an unlit freeway overpass. Hard pass, especially at night.

So the subway it is.

Monk's is before City Hall. It's within 2 blocks of the Walnut-Locust station. Exit at Locust St, on the southbound tracks side.

You should plan on places in Center City, because of the subway system. SEPTA Broad St line has both regular and Express trains for events. On gameday, you'll get confused and either not know which train you're on, or not remember which stations Express skips. Just make your life easy: Walnut-Locust is on both trains, and is the first Express station. Go to places within walking distance of there or City Hall.

Bob & Barbara's is a Philly standby, but it's an issue for tourists at events -- because the Lombard-South station is not on the Express line.

That's not to discourage people from going. Just be aware of which train you're on. If you're on the regular train, no problem. If you're on the Express, then you need to go to Walnut-Locust, switch sides, and then take a regular train (NOT an Express) back to Lombard-South. If you accidentally take an Express train southbound, the next station is the stadium complex.

It is walkable from Walnut-Locust, probably around a half mile or so ... but once at Walnut-Locust, most people will just go to a bar closer to that station.

Everyone, go to Bob and Barb's, it's not complicated. If you don't catch the subway that stops closest just get off at the nearest station (before or after) and walk. I do it often. This is a drinking bar filled with people that are there to drink inexpensive booze and have a good time while doing it. McGillins, as I mentioned above, should be on your list but getting in could be tricky.

Probably less than a quarter mile. Two blocks from broad and one block south.

The Victory Brewing beer hall is in XFinity Live. They have microbrews including some Belgians. That's across the parking lot from the Wells Fargo Center. I'd recommend that instead of going all the way to Monk's (unless you're staying in Center City near Monk's).

From the Lombard-South station, yes.

My distance guesstimate was from Walnut-Locust. It's definitely more than 3 blocks from there. Not far enough to keep away people who really want to go there. Far enough for the folks who'd rather just stay closer to Center City.

Your still ok with me willie ( not that u give a sh:t lol) but, would appreciate you not having a show on a personal butt hurt, when your half in the bag. Just comes out likes your from philly or worse jersey, well maybe the crying bit:hes from GIA.
