Know Your Penn State Wrestlers (KYPSW) 2017-18

He's a RS Soph, in terms of eligibility. He redshirted as a freshman. Due to the injury he suffered, he did not enroll the following year, which is the unusual twist to this story. He was enrolled last year, which was his RS Fresh season.

I don't know how the not enrolled component aligns with the NCAA's 5-years-to-complete-4-years-of-competition rule, which does make this somewhat confusing.

Unless he was pregnant, on a mission, in the service, has an Olympic year exception, or several other factors listed as circumstances outside his control...the clock doesn't stop, based on what I've read in the rulebook. The "not enrolled" piece appears to qualify as "circumstances within control", and are not reasons for the clock to stop.

All that said, it appears he's a prime candidate for a 6th year due to injuries.

i can't access the link (probably work filters) but looking at the numbers i think the 157 column might be wrong. that column is tied for the 2nd lowest average (2.05) when the match had probably had the most likely result (nolf by fall).

also notable is that cassar DEC (2.91) and cenzo MAJ (2.78) were the highest averages

There are two 157 columns. AH and AY. With the changes that I made, both of those are averaging 2.77. If you're looking at the data in message 70, that is definitely wrong, as I updated the spreadsheet after that

You need to use common core (crap) math. Color in the squares in 4 different gray tones and then you'll have your answer.

• Pretty, pretty, please, with sugar on top, post your picks using last name only, no first names, no nicknames. I know it is tempting with Zain and Cutch, but it really does slow down my data entry. My fingers outwork my feeble mind, as it is, let alone when I'm thinking, "Raptor, raptor, raptor, oh, Cassar."
  
• As ZepGraffiti (that's Tired14 to the FOS guys) alluded to, just because you missed a match does not mean you are out of the running for the grand championship. There are yuge points to be had in the B1G and NCAA portions of the contest. So, if you are sad and regretting that you missed the first dual, please jump in. At the least you can win a dual or two, and at most, you could still win the whole shebang.

After considering your suggestions from yesterday, I think the most helpful thing would be to sticky this thread to the top of the board. I think I'll just stick with the single thread for the season though, rather than separating by match. It doesn't make it that much more difficult for me to do my data input, and if there's ever a results question, I only have one place to go.

Okay, on a serious note. Somebody has got to have other ideas. I'm game to make the thing better, but if the above is what it is going to take, I'm just as game to tell everyone that they've got to get a Microsoft account, so they can open the spreadsheet.

I've played around a bunch of ways, and can't do any better than what I've done so far.

Well, the whole thing took only about 3 minutes, but it's still a bunch of steps and for not much gain.

A simpler way to make it more readable is to introduce a break after the name, so the number-rows line up b/c they're flush left. E.g.,
