Well, Bucknell really threw a wrench in the works, by sending four guys out that weren't even in the match notes.

They sent Kolonia in place of Smith; Bassolino in place of Kelly or Hartman; Hollingshead in place of Schiele; and Hoffman in place of Sleigh. The choice is to either throw all of those matches out, so this dual would be worth a max of 18, or give everyone the 12 points. I'm feeling generous, so for this match and the remainder of the year, these situations will result in everyone getting the points.

The good news is these things typically get better throughout the season, as lineups firm up. Four changes is the most that I can remember in the five years of the contest.

Obviously, spotting 12 points means the dual scores, on average, were very high. A full podium of players had 27 and another full podium, plus one, had 26. Last dual's winner, Tom McAndrew, held strong in that group, while yours truly brought up the rear with 22. I've gotta hit the weights hard, I guess, because I don't think that even beats Nico in the room.

I'm going to post the dual results in a few minutes. YTD results will be out later, as I'm working on auto-calculating match to match place changes, which are fun to look at and talk about.

Last year we did not have a competition around the Classic. Even if we did, the results would have been a one-off, and only for bragging rights for this one event. The point totals were not included in the season-long KYPSW data.

I'll let it up to pawrestler if he wants to run the competition, as we'll surely do it for the Scuffle too. Here's the rules from last year, for the RTOC, which we ended up not attending...just for reference...despite it's length, it's not complicated at all...

Penn State is expected to have 15 wrestlers competing at Reno. For each of those wrestlers:
(1) Pick where you believe the wrestler will place (1st, 2nd, 3rd, 4th, 5th, 6th, or "Outside Top 6"); and
(2) Pick how many total bonus points the wrestler will score throughout the tournament.

You will be awarded "placement points" with respect to #1 above, as follows:
- 6 points for picking a wrestler's finish exactly, provided the wrestler places 1st-6th;
- 4 points for missing the wrestler's finish by one place, provided the wrestler places 1st-6th;
- 2 points for missing the wrestler's finish by two places, provided the wrestler places 1st-6th;
- 2 points for picking a wrestler to finish Outside Top 6, and he does, indeed, place outside the Top 6;
- 1 points for missing the wrestler's finish by three places, provided the wrestler places 1st-6th;
- 0 point for missing the wrestler's finish by four places, provided the wrestler places 1st-6th;
- 0 points for picking a wrestler to finish 1st-6th, but he actually finishes outside the Top 6.
- 0 points for picking a wrestler to finish Outside Top 6, but he actually finishes in the Top 6.

Then, you will be docked "take-away points" with respect to #2 above, as follows:
- 1 point subtracted for every bonus point by which your prediction differs from what the wrestler actually scores.

Addenum 1: Bonus points include points earned from a medical forfeit.
Addendum 2: If you fail to pick placement for any wrestler, you will score zero points for placement, minus the number of bonus points that wrestler earns.

A few specific examples to further illustrate the scoring:

Wrestler A
- You pick Wrestler A to finish 2nd and score a total of 3 bonus points during the tournament;
- Wrestler A does exactly that;
- You get 6 placement points, minus 0 take-away points, for a total of 6 points for your Wrestler A pick.

Wrestler B
- You pick Wrestler B to finish 1st and score a total of 3 bonus points;
- Wrestler B finishes 4th and scores 2 bonus points;
- You get 1 placement point, minus 1 take-away point, for a total of 0 points for your Wrestler B pick.

Wrestler C
- You pick Wrestler C to finish 6th and score 0 bonus points;
- Wrestler C finishes outside the Top 6 and scores 2 bonus points;
- You get 0 placement points, minus 2 take-away points, for a total of -2 points for your Wrestler C pick.

Wrestler D
- You pick Wrestler D to finish Outside Top 8 and score 1 bonus point;
- Wrestler D finishes outside the Top 8 and scores 0 bonus points;
- You get 2 placement points, minus 1 take-away point, for a total of 2 points for your Wrestler D pick.

As you can see under the Wrestler C example, it is possible to finish with a negative point total for a given wrestler. Remember, if you do not correctly predict someone's total bonus points exactly, the difference will be deducted from your score.

This contest should prove to be fairly challenging. Here are the tiebreaker criteria: (1) most placement points, (2) most FOS posts.

All picks must be posted in this thread prior to the start of the tournament, which is 11:00 Eastern time Sunday, December 18.

Please see Roar's note. Unfortunately, I'm not going to have time to run this one. It is not part of the overall KYPSW, and would have been standalone.

Have the cumulative rankings after the Bucknell match been calculated yet?
Calculated? Yes. Published? No. I've been playing with the spreadsheet to try to automate that portion, but am not having much luck. Will publish when I hit the hotel tonight.

YTD After Bucknell
Alright, y'all, sorry for the delay, but I've been trying to automate the YTD standings. In particular, I wanted to automate the "Place Change" column, but no such luck. I'll keep plugging away, but what you should expect to see earliest after each match, is the match results and the YTD results without the YTD place change results, until I get that figured out.

One other caveat to these YTD standings is Garrett Carr, from Scout, who has a PSU wrestling podcast, made his predictions via podcast, but forgot to put them in the thread. I'm allowing his picks, because I'm easy, and because I figure if the guy has the cajones to podcast his picks, who am I to throw those pick out?

Anyway, our glorious host on BWI, remains in first place through two duals, Mr. Tom McAndrew. However, Tom got some company, as Eastern HWT moved up a spot to a tie with Tom. Purescurve moves onto the season podium with a leap of +14. Other moves of note are Crunched and ZepGraffiti, both moving up 31 spots. When ZepGraffiti, last year's champ, says he has a plan, he has a plan. Three guys, all from the Scout board in previous years, leap 20 spots. Things that make you go "hmm." And, on the flip side, yours truly, goes the opposite direction, dropping like the proverbial rock by 17 spots. GOTTA HIT THE WEIGHTS HARD!!!

So, without further ado...
