Did anyone figure out their point totals based on their picks?
I had over 190 and see others that should be even higher.

I had us at 187.5 with 7 finalists (Davis, Bartlett, Haines, Mesenbrink, Starocci, Brooks & Kerkvliet) with only Mesenbrink losing. It's definitely seeing through big time blue and white goggles, but, here's the thing, there is certainly nothing out of the question in those picks!

Here are this year's NCAA KYPSW NCAA results. A newcomer, truth-and-reason, finally decided to join KYPSW at the end of the season, and almost landed on top of the podium! However, zestypizza ended up coming out on top with a solid score of 810. Congratulations, zesty, you are the 2024 KYPSW NCAA Champion.

There was a tie between 1995PSUGrad and Acacia, that went all the way down to the most meaningless of tiebreakers, most message board posts, and 1995 won on that criteria, so he finished 3rd ahead of perennial placer, Acacia.

I'm going to let this ruminate for a bit, before posting final tallies for the year. Please look over your scores, and let me know if you see any errors.

Appreciate the work you put into this.

Somethings gotta be wrong i way off..... lol

Thanks, had a lot of fun never did anything like that before. I think the three point TD made it harder for picking bonus points but, like I said first never did it before so what do I know!

Alrighty, then. I guess it's time for the big reveal.

Below are the results for the 2023-24 full season KYPSW competition. After all of the grueling duels, the thrill of the B1G, and the brutality of the NCAA tournament, the grand champion for 2023-24 is ZepGraffiti, with a total of 1298 points. Nipping close at his heels is the only person (I think) returning to AA status from last year, and whose name gets used a lot when this writeup comes out each year, Acacia.

Following Acacia, in the third spot is GogglesPaisano. Yabbadabbadoo! And, bloody sock guy Bosox2004 finishes in fourth. Rounding out the rest of the podium were 1995PSUGrad, Verolion, Someposter (who may still be protesting his NCAA result, which I'm looking into), and last, but not least, Lewistown guy mvattivo.

And, finally, an award that just has to be given. The one named after a much-maligned Big Ten coach, who just struggled year after year. The Minkel Award, given to the KYPSW player who participated in every dual, plus B1G and NCAA, and finished dead last, goes to loyalandtrue2. Don't worry, loyal, I don't think anyone has won that award in back to back years, so keep training, and keep your head up. Next year will be better. Hopefully.

As always, the prizes are in the mail. Don't worry, I looked up your addresses using your usernames. It wasn't easy, but I'm dedicated.

So, am I allowed to tell anyone and everyone that I'm an NCAA All-American? This was the first year that I actually did this without forgetting matches and then abandoning. This is such a fun thing and you do an awesome job running it! Now, to move up to the top of the podium. I'm not sure if the problem is that I'm too much of a homer or too little of a homer!

Not only are you allowed, but you're encouraged to tell them. Take video of them being impressed, and post it here. I've even heard that telling your spouse/SO that you're a KYPSW AA might lead to some fun and frivolity, wink, wink, nudge, nudge.

Anyway, thanks for the kind words. Glad you enjoy it.

Congrats and all to the AAs, but you know, for me it's not about the outcome, it's about the process. I honestly don't care if I win or lose this KYPSW competition. Victory for me is just knowing I gave it my all, speculated hard on my win/loss, placement, and bonus picks each and every dual and tourney, and had fun while letting it fly. I would rather lose every time knowing I did that than win having put in a boring, conservative, Lewan-esque effort.

So yeah, believe me when I say that I absolutely will NOT obsess over my failure to podium yet again this year, and certainly won't think about it daily for the next 360-ish days.
