I thought that the 1982 and 1986 National Championship tams were both great, and 1994's offense was without equal in the day.

But I'll go with 1969, in a day when defense did in fact win championships, that defense was otherworldly.

Only started watching PSU when I enrolled as a freshmen. With that said…2005 without question. 2008 is #2, 2009 is #3, 2002 is #4, 2017 is #5, 2016 is # 6.

I was born that year. I would say 1994 followed by 1981 and 1991. I didn't go to any games in 1982, 1985 or 1986. The best win I saw in person was the 48-14 destruction of Pitt.

1969. This team went undefeated during Penn State's longest unbeaten streak in the history of the program...31 games. A defense that included Mike Reid, Steve Smear, John Ebersole, Dennis Onkotz and Jack Ham. Franco and Lydell Mitchell at RB.

FLAG!

How could you not include All-American Neal Smith, the all-time interception leader at PSU?

I was a soph at KU…..saw them beat K-St and QB Lynn Dickey in Manhattan, KS.

1994 63-14 vs a good OSU team. That performance will never be equaled.
Exactly.

Take nothing away from the '69, '73, '82, '85, and '86 teams --

This was a conference game against one of the top conference team in OSU; a perennial power program.

I guess the only comparison that I can remember is PSU over 'Bama 23-3 in Tuscaloosa in 1986. But still, the '94 squad hung 63 on OSU. Still one of Paterno's teams. Let that sink in..

I was at the Ohio State beat down in 1994, that was actually a pretty good Ohio State team.We we’re on a mission that day we probably could have scored another touchdown or two

I've been around a long time and I think the 1969 team was the best. #2 had to be the 1994 team.

If we're taking "saw in person," probably the 94 team. Partial to that Michael Robinson-led squad in 05 (aside from attending most if not all games that season, also was at that Orange Bowl game).

Fan since 86, started attending games in 93 (while in Army), student 95-97, season ticket holder since 01.

That was the best game psu ever played. They could've scored 100 points if they wanted to and osu would have scored 7 if it wasn't for Carter's fumble .

I watched the 1993 come back at MSU (down 21) to watch Bobby Engram haul in two long passes right into my end zone seats.

Then came 11-0 in 1994 / 1995. Was in Ann Arbor for that big win. Engram again.

I was at the ‘94 PSU vs osu game. That was the best team I saw personally. That OL. Kijana. Kerry. Bobby. Brady. They moved the ball at will.

Gotta go with 86.
Obviously 94 was the best offense, but I think 86 offense > 94 defense
I think the 1994 team would have beaten 1986 by at least 7 points. The defense was better than it got credit for and could make stops when it had to (see the Illinois game), but the entire offensive line, QB, tight end, starting and backup tailback, starting and backup fullback and both wide receivers played in the NFL. I believe the 1994 offense was > than the 1986 Miami offense. I also think the 1994 defense was > than the 1986 offense.

The 94 PSU Team and 01' Miami were the two best teams in my lifetime. Neither won titles.

94 I was so young but my brain processed greatness.

I saw 01 Canes and 11 Bama but the best PSU team was 05- Gary Russell and that other Goopher guy were both sposed to run for 125 and they were getting chased down like little Richard Simmons Juniors.

They all had great offensive lines. Imagine a current day psu team with an actual offensive line..
