Actual post from Iowa board:

“If I’m Noto in the semifinals I would block off and try to win 2-0. It sucks for the sport. I can’t stand it. But that’s how you beat Iowa guys. Stall your ass off and win one scramble. It’s the same song that has been playing every dance for the last 6 years. Jacob Warner, Murin, Bull. All had the same issue.”

Some just don’t get it. The crazies think they have 5 Mesenbrink’s in their lineup

I figured out why I was so down after the first session yesterday despite the overall success. It was the Kasak loss. I can’t get enough of seeing him wrestle and was gutted for him. He has quickly become my favorite guy on the team. Looking forward to tonight and hope he sees his way to the podium.

Consi 149: #7 T.Kasak vs. #17 G.Rooks (IND)
P1:
Both guys feeling each other out
Kasak gets a leg on the edge, pulling in on it, slips, but reaches across, and gets the TD 3-0
Rooks on his belly, works back to his knees, but Kasak riding tough on top.
Rooks just balled up, not doing much & ref stops it for potentially dangerous, restart.
Rooks rolls, but Kasak stays with him & now Rooks is flat again, now back to his knees.
Kasak trying to roll him over for a pin, cranking pretty hard on Rooks
RT +1:25
Rooks stall warning
Kasak stall warning, restart
Kasak stil riding, takes Rooks to his belly & rides him out
RT +2:06 Kasak

P2:
Kasak takes neutral
Both circling in the center, keeping some distance
Rooks with a semi-reach for the leg
Kasak tries the same & they're back to circling
Tying up now in the center
Kasak pulls down & gets an ankle, elevates the leg, Rooks rolls, gets a ankle, but Kasak still scrambling & fights for the TD during the scramble 6-0
A brick comes into the screen from Indiana side, as Kasak works his way fully around on top of Rooks
Stopped for a coach's challenge, Indiana challenging if there was a takedown
The ref might have called it a little early, when Rooks still had an ankle, but Kasak was working around for top control & it seemed inevitable.
8-sec left in the period
Takedown confirmed, challenge overturned 6-0

P3:
Rooks takes neutral
Head slapping in the middle. Pace seems to have picked up a little
Rooks shoots, but nothing, Kasak semi-counter, nothing
Rooks shoots for an ankle, Kasak counters, gets Rook's leg & comes around for the TD 9-0
Rooks to his feet for the escape 9-1
Tying up on the edge
Rooks shoot, Kasak counters & comes around behind for another TD 12-1
Time ends. Woohoo!

#7 T.Kasak MD #17 G.Rooks 13-1

Tyler is looking fantastic! Another great win!
SlipperyPete: Another awesome job. This allows me to "be at" work while also taking in all the matches.

Not certain how you do it with all of that info. Guessing I'm talking to an AI BOT that pulls in all of that concise info.

I certainly owe you a beer or 2 for your effort

:D

The rule should be that when a challenge is lost, the wrestler who was on the losing side of the challenge has to restart the action on his back and the other wrestler gets the pin combination he chooses. Let’s see how many bricks are thrown with that rule.
The injury time rule changed a few years ago to give the opponent a choice of position to keep wrestlers from faking injuries. I think the same thing should be done for lost challenges. Not an automatic point like in freestyle, but enough of a disadvantage positionally to have coaches think deeply about using them.

I would assume so since he finished out 2 + periods on it. Ice it down and tape it up. I’m sure he wants to be a 4 time AA

I think back to 2011 and Ed Ruth’s injury.
I never thought Ed would wrestle in the Consolations, but he ended up taking 3rd in impressive fashion.

I may be wrong, but Ed’s 3rd place win might have clinched Cael’s first title. Very fuzzy on that detail.

85.5 right now.

- all six semifinalists win: +42
- half the BR matches are wins: +7
- how about two bonus points with those eight wins? +2

Puts us at 136.5

All six finalists win tomorrow night: +24
2 others take 4th: +14
How about two more bonus among those ten wins? +2

= 176.5

There’s a path. Even with no more bonus, placements can get us there.

Ahhh. Probably not, but I am happy if we wrestle like we should.

So the good guys have 10 still alive. Who's the next best in that category?
Add the SF and consi round 4 numbers together. PSU has 10. NEB, who is in 12th place has 7. Four other teams have 6 left.

I have not been to HR yet but I'm wondering if it's meltdown mode or whatever mode.
Only the people who think Iowa should win every year like the Gable era. Knowledgeable fans knew we had no chance to win this year. Still hoping for a team trophy. I would be melting down if I was a Nebraska fan. 7 in the quarters and go 1-6
