There is nothing about Cormier that we wouldn't immediately forgive if some of his Gilroy or club kids came to PSU.
Good Morning Gentlemen. Hoping everyone is bright eyed this morning with some lead left in the pencil. Had to go to job for an hour this morning but back wearing out the couch. Give em hell fellas!
Lewis the real test. Griffith is just as injured as Starocci.
I agree.......but I took another look at the bracket and that seeding is a disgrace! The bottom half is weak, and then they stuff 3 former champs in the top. Really disappointing. Carter is a warrior....I hope he can overcome.

Everyone in the champion bracket will be on mat 3 or 6, except Bernie will be on 5. No mats for Aaron or Tyler yet.

Figs was backpedaling but you got to go earlier if you want to win.
Davis didn't wrestle, can't complain about losing if you don't wrestle.
No one to blame but himself there. Didn’t push the action at all until final 25 seconds.

Back at it. Davis pushing forward, guys tying up, then break & they're back to the center of the mat.
More tie ups & Figs on the edge again, but circles back in & they're back to the center.
Figs back on the edge, but moves back to the center.
Tie ups, and quick breaks, then back outs. Figs seems to prefer a little space. He doesn't seem to like staying tied up.
Davis keeps pushing forward. Figs on the edge again.
Figs shoots a single, Davis sprawls, scrambling, Davis tries a roll & they go off the edge, restart.
Both guys being pretty cautious
End of period, no scoring.

Davis takes down
Davis sits out, looking for hand control, spins & gets the escape 1-0
Tying up in the center of the mat now. Figs moving backwards to the edge. They break & move back to center.
Davis with a half-shot.
Both guys very tentative.
Figs with a duck attempt. A little scramble at the end. Nothing more.

Figs takes down
Caution Davis, jumping
Figs with a quick spin around for a reversal 2-1
Davis working for an escape, Figs tries to chin him, but no dice.
Davis sits out, working for hand control, but Figs riding tough
Figs goes over 1-min riding time
Figs tries to chin him again, but nothing
Davis gets out & turns for the escape 2-2
Figs +1:14 RT
Figs stall warning
Davis shoots for a leg, gets the ankle, but Figs countering, scrambling, still working and they go off the edge
Davis attacking hard, but Figs backing up.
And it's over.

Davis really wanted a stalling call at the end.

If that was a PSU guy running backwards they'd have hit him but still, you gotta wrestle.
Can’t wait until :36 seconds left in the 3rd to get to your offense
Now Davis can’t complain when he spends a quarter of neutral on his knee and doesn’t get called
Don't bitch about stalling when you were on 1 knee half the match
Not sure what Davis was so upset about. He really seemed to have an issue with being ridden.
When you play with fire, you can get burned. You gotta put on the pace when you know they are going to stall to keep it close. It's the only alternative. Trust your defense and push it.
Bad wrestling on both guys, Davis played into Figs plan.
