Nolf And Snyder to Wrestle in Finals

Nolf got a tech over Magomed Kardanov (12-1) and then controlled fellow American Josh Shields, 9-1. He teched Nurlan Bekzhanov (10-0). In the semis. Nolf then wrestled against 2021 world bronze medalist, #7 Timur Bizhoev. Just 30 seconds into the match, the two were tied up in the under-over position when Nolf sent Bizhoev for a ride. Nolf threw Bizhoev in a lat-drop and got the fall at only 53 seconds into the match! The win over Bizhoev is one of Nolf’s most significant of his freestyle career will set up a finals match against Cherman Valiev. Valiev won Russian nationals in 2020 and was a U23 world champion in 2021.

Kyle Snyder also made the finals. Snyder recorded three straight tech falls over Dzugaev (10-0), Ovsiannikov (12-2), and Dzhagaev (14-4) to make his third career Yarygin finals. There, Snyder will wrestle Russia’s Shamil Musaev. Musaev made the finals by defeating 2018 world bronze medalist #11 Elizbar Odikadze in the semis. Musaev and Snyder have never wrestled but Musaev, a junior world champ and U23 world silver, should present Snyder with some unique challenges.

Dake missed his opportunity at gold in Tokyo. Nolf leveling up and coming for 2024.

I think it is now fair to say Nolf is a top 15 guy in the world at 74 KG. He beat Tsabolov (former World Champ and World Silver medalist) on his trip to Russia with Kyle Snyder and FLO had him at #19 after that. And he just beat a #7 Russian (using FLO's rankings).

He next wrestles #16 Valiev in the finals of Yarigin. And then in February he will wrestle an Iranian in the US vs. Iran match. Hope he stays healthy and can give Dake a run for his money this spring.

Would have liked to have seen Zain at Yarigin, too.

Can someone translate into Eastern time when Nolf and Snyder’s will wrestle? Thanks

I'm working on my transliteration from Russian and enjoy challenges. Next up: hieroglyphics and then bird songs.

In fairness, @dunkej01 was drinking out of that shoe Brands held up last night.
Any idea what that was about? I was going to drop some acid and maybe get enlightened. I get their finger pointing and ref riding and jumping around....they are who they are.....but the shoe????????????
