VJ vs AM

It would be shocking for Griffith to be over Marinelli. MAYBE over Cenzo because of conference placement.
Would it be all that shocking after the 2014 seeds at 141?

1 Port, 2 Stieber, 3 Zain

Port faced only 3 of the top 16 seeds prior to NCAAs: 5 Mecate, 14 Bright, and 16 Spisak. But he was unbeaten.

Griffith has beaten Wittlake (the likely 4 seed) and Shields 2x. Which is far better than Port's resume was.

Plus he is the only undefeated 65lber who has beaten every opponent and ducked no one.

That was the genesis of MSU158s famous discounting of Zain’s chances to win title after his freshman year - “pfft, he only finished 5th while Sorenson the next year finished 4th as a freshman, so I would favor Sorenson.”
Zain had a brutal draw of course, but analysis is hard for some people.

And then reality struck.

Remembering when Zain first used the bow and arrow, at the JR world team trials just before the beginning of his SO year ... Stroker had to be glued back together.

That development, plus Zain no longer being undersized, rendered everybody's analysis obsolete.

Of course, MSU's "analysis" was obsolete before he hit submit.

Yeah, but they changed the formula since then. That's how we IMar as the 1 seed over Gantt.
