TOM Pre Season Rankings

I thought Yianni was going 49 this year? I guess we'll find out.
Yianni is going wherever it bests suits the team. A lot depends on Josh Saunders: Yianni said if Saunders comes in as a tiny 149 lber, Yianni would move up. If Saunders comes in as a full-sized 149, or Hunter Richard can beat him for the spot, Yianni stays at 141.

What is his pedigree? Not that familiar with his credentials. I can see 149 and 157 possible opportunities for a few. He came in unheralded.
4 time Utah State champ. Division 1 caliber soccer player. Bio-mechanical Engineering major and really nice kid. He still looks like a kid, and will clearly gain a little man muscle as he gets older. I seem to recall another pretty good wrestler that came out of Utah...

I patented his nickname “Bear Claw” by the way. So back off fellas

Here are the PSU freshman All Americans in the Cael era with their pre-season freshman rankings and the points they scored at NCAAs freshman year:

Taylor - 6th ranked, 19.5 points
Ruth - 13th ranked, 18.5 points
Megaludis - 19th ranked, 18 points
D Alton - unranked (Intermat), 15.5 points
Retherford - 13th ranked*, 12 points
Nolf - 5th ranked, 22 points
Nickal - unranked, 18 points
Joseph - unranked, 23 points
Hall - unranked, 22.5 points
N Lee - unranked, 11.5 points

* I can't find preseason rankings from 2013, but in late November (when he was already 7-0), Retherford was ranked 13th by USA Wrestling (Here's the link: https://www.teamusa.org/USA-Wrestli...2013/November/6/Week-1-DI-individual-rankings)

The take away for me ... preseason rankings don't have much to do with what happens in March.

How awesome is it that a TF is damn near our highest scoring freshman at Nats?

Actually, he told me that some of his friends call him "Bear Claw", shortly after he arrived on campus in September. Also, it's in his bio in the PSWC October 2019 newsletter.

@Chickenman Testa is merely engaging in China-style after-the-fact intellectual property squatting.

Here are 2 examples from my 2016 trip to SE Asia. Top from the Temple Street Night Market in Hong Kong, bottom from Macau. In both cases, note the ridiculous knock-off company/brand names.
