Ohio State's Schedule

125 - Suriano (PSU) vs Tomasello (OSU)
133 - Cortez (PSU) vs Pletcher (OSU)
141 - Lee (PSU) vs Hayes (OSU)
149 - Retherford (PSU) vs McKenna (OSU)
157 - Nolf (PSU) vs M. Jordan (OSU)

174 - Hall (PSU) vs B. Jordan (OSU)
184 - Nickal (PSU) vs Martin (OSU)
197 - McCutcheon (PSU) vs Moore (OSU)
285 - Nevills (PSU) vs Snyder (OSU)

125 - DEC OSU 0-3
133 - DEC OSU 0-6
141 - DEC OSU 0-9
149 - DEC PSU 3-9 (Can McKenna keep it to a decison?)
157 - DEC PSU 6-9
165 - DEC PSU 9-9 (Can Campbell keep it to a decison?)
174 - DEC OSU 9-12 (This can go either way)
184 - DEC PSU 12-12 (We know MyMar can win)
197 - DEC OSU 12-15
285 - MAJ OSU 12-19 (This could be a tech)

Just bored of all the Suriano talk with no real definitive final word...maybe we can discuss this to change it up?

that is nearly the absolute best outcome for the Yuks on paper and even then its a single swing match from being a PSU win.

I don't think that's how 33 and 41 will line up for us, but for fun, why not...

125- Suriano (PSU) vs Tomasello (OSU) 3-0
133 - Cortez (PSU) vs Pletcher (OSU) 6-0
141 - Lee (PSU) vs Hayes (OSU) 9-0
149 - Retherford(PSU) vsMcKenna(OSU)14-0
157 - Nolf (PSU) vs M. Jordan (OSU) 19-0
165 - Joseph (PSU) vs Campbell (OSU) 22-0
174 - Hall (PSU) vs B. Jordan (OSU) 25-0
184 - Nickal (PSU) vs Martin (OSU) 28-0
197 - McCutcheon (PSU) vsMoore(OSU)28-4
285 - Nevills (PSU) vs Snyder (OSU) 28-9

I'm serious on all my pics but 33 and 41 were real tough for me. I went with our guys because they're our guys. If those 2 don't go our way, still 22-15.

That's hilarious. Micah Jordan is going to need CPR after going with Nolf

As an aside, Luke Pletcher loses twice last year to national whipping boy Jimmy Gulibon, is a rd of 16 guy at Nationals, now he's going down a weight and everyone's pegging him for mid AA at 133. What am I missing?

I don't get it either. Also don't think Ryan will be sending his best squad to PSU, he rested guys last year and with the weight cutting I would be surprised to see NATO, Bojo and at least one other starter wrestling that night.

Ummmm....did they forget that Tom will probably hold 1 or 2 starters out to protect their seeds?

EDIT - ^^^^^^^ Yeah, what he said.

Assuming Suriano is at 25 and Cortez or Lee is at 41 Penn State wins 125, 141 - 184. Osu gets the last match, most likely 197 and 133 is a toss-up.
197 has some intrigue. Prior to the two shoulder injuries I believe our Raptor was ahead of Moore. If Cassar were to beat Matt at 197 then I would think he is a decent bet to beat Moore.

The idea of winning 19 of 20 bouts in the matches against Iowa and OSU makes me smile.

Over/Under for Buckeye starters sitting is 2. I'll take the Over if they've lost a dual before coming to PSU

Funny that no one mentioned the boldest prediction by caliPSU:

McKenna holding Zain to a decision.

I was hoping for this kind of response from you guys...nice to have a new topic even if it's just for a few minutes. Thanks for the replies!

I thought that they were off with our 133 probable and 141 should be Cortez/Lee. They also gave all the swing matches to tOSU and no bonus for PSU.

125 - If Suriano stays, I like him over a sucked up Tomo in a dual weigh in situation (3-0)

133 - Pletcher with a slight edge over Keener (3-3)

141 - I'd say that 141 with Hayes coming off an ACL tear and PSU having Cortez and Lee battling it out should be a toss up match - I'll give them this one to keep it interesting (3-6)

149 - McKenna will not avoid bonus, but I'll stay conservative again, Zain with the major (7-6)

157 - Same story as 149, Micah gets majored by Nolf (11-6)

165 - Cenzo beat Campbell comfortably before he became the champ - I'll say it's a comfortable decision (14-6)

174 and 184 - I say it's fair to give them one of these "swing" matches and us one even though PSU will be slight favorites in both (17-9)

197 - Cutch, "that guy never wins anything!" Moore by decision (17-12)

HWT - Snyder majors Nick (17-16 PSU)

That's assuming - as others have stated - that they show up with a full lineup.

Those that can be considered swing matches are 125, 133, 141, 174, 184

They are heavy favorites at 197 and HWT
PSU is heavily favored at 149, 157, and 165

I hope we have Nick, they have McKenna, and everyone is in the lineup that night for both squads - it could be a really awesome dual!

Haha, glad I added my latest take on the predictions...those that I originally posted were taken directly from the tOSU forum and pasted here. I posted there thoughts to give us a starting point. I'm typically conservative, but not clueless!!!

What is the outlook for Bo Pipher? Assuming he redshirts, will he realistically have a shot at the line-up? It is crazy when a 3X state champ is overlooked because of all the talent in the room...as someone else posted- first world problems, I guess.

This is what we know so far regarding the Penn State schedule:

Micah's also gonna need a defibrillator. Tan Tom may need time in the ice tub after all the challenge brick throwing.

I'm still laughing. .... but will all that extra gear fit on the team bus ? It's a long bus ride, ya know.

Per Ohiowrestling.net forum

11/4 Princeton Open
11/5 All Star Classic @Princeton
11/12 Arizona State
11/21 Cleveland St/Kent St
12/1-2 Cliff Keen Inv @Las Vegas
12/10 Indiana @CVCA
12/17 Tenn-Chat @Atlanta
1/5 @Maryland
1/7 @Rutgers
1/12 Minnesota (Schott)
1/19 or 1/21 Iowa (Schott)
1/26 @Michigan St
1/28 Purdue @St Paris Graham
2/2 or 2/4 @Penn St
2/11 @Michigan
2/18 @NC State

Patsy schedule - pretty...yawn...except for when they wrestle PSU

Although comparative scores don't matter, if Mayes lost 18-2, Sorenson was pinned, and nearly everyone else was either tech fall or lost by pin to Retherford, what makes people believe McKenna, going up a weight, will hold Retherford to a decision? The good news is that they will wrestle in the meet, hopefully.

Michigan might give them a run.

Yeah, and it's not like Iowa, ASU, and Minnesota are absent any studs.

Iowa: Sorensen, Kemerer, Marinelli will be favorites. Downey if he is there could be a challenge. Depending on the whereabouts of BoJo and Snyder, 174 and 285 could be ripe for the taking by Young and Stoll.

ASU: I don't know this team as well, but Z. Valencia would be favored at 184. Is A. Valencia bumping up to 174? With Sasquatch at 285, again, 174 and 285 could be available wins depending on who tOSU puts on the mat. A restored T-shirt could take out MiJo.

Minnie: Lizak could present problems for Tomasello (although both could be hurting from an early-season cut). McKee and Thorn could beat Pletcher and Hayes. Maybe Wanzek over Campbell?

Sure, tOSU is favored with a full lineup against everyone but PSU, but that's why they are #2.
