Looked to me like when the ref said, "Fingers, guys", Beau let go and Mendez used it to his advantage.

I’m good with the loss now and the undefeated monkey off the back of a wrestler that plays it too close too often. Mendez deserved that one and Beau has something to learn from there. I’ll take Beau in the next one!

With the Michigan loss at 141, PSU clinched the B10 title.
Pretty evenly matched, but the problem was that Beau had absolutely zero offense. Beau deserved to lose that match - I don't think he made a single real offensive attack. Showed great defensive skills, but a bit pathetic that he didn't make a single real offensive attack - not sure what he's thinking, but you shouldn't be looking to win a match 1-0 or on TB Riding-Time Adv. You have to score to win and Beau seemed utterly oblivious to that.
Therefore, one would assume that Mike Evans was not impressed either.
Yeah, that was some sequence and great chain wrestling by Mendez. Was actually very well defended by Bartlett, except for the last double leg.
I believe it can be called as fleeing the mat in HS. Not sure about college. I think it’s largely at the officials discretion overall
I don't know how much that loss will really hurt Beau in seedings. He's probably still looking at a 2 or 3 seed, and Mendez will be on the other side.
