well, well, well....

Ms Holowach was reportedly wearing a wet suit and her daughter was not, fuelling speculation locally that the shark may have mistaken the older woman for a seal.
Great whites have been sighted in recent summers in Maine, where many seals swim in local waters.

My brother is Exhibit A as to surfers attitudes towards sharks and danger. He is in his late 60s and was surfing at night in Hawaii about 3 weeks ago. [Not joking about surfing at night. He has done this for a long time] He screwed up and somehow crashed into the beach shoreline. His surfboard popped up and whacked him on the head. He goes home and puts both a towel around his head and paper towels. The paper towels were secured by masking tape. Not really planning on going to the doctor. Friends convince him to go to a doc. He goes to the doctor and gets 15 staples in his head.

Real world stranger than fiction.
