Men's Freestyle Starts Tuesday, June 8th at 5am (EST)

From USA wrestling:

The United States is sending 22 athletes, including 12 men’s freestylers, seven women’s freestylers and three Greco-Roman athletes, to Warsaw, Poland, to compete at the Ziolkowski, Pytlasinski and Poland Opens, June 8-13. The tournament serves as a UWW Ranking Series Event for the 2021 World Championships in Oslo, Norway.

Among the 22 athletes are three 2021 Olympians, including 2016 Olympic champion Helen Maroulis (57 kg WFS) and Greco-Roman Olympians Ildar Hafizov (60 kg) and Alex Sancho (67 kg).

In addition to Maroulis, there are three other World medalists in the mix, all of whom are competing in men’s freestyle such as two-time World champion J’den Cox (92 kg), World silver and World bronze medalist James Green (70 kg) and two-time World bronze winner Nick Gwiazdowski (125 kg).

Five athletes, Ronna Heaton (53 kg WFS), Jen Page (65 kg WFS), Joey McKenna (65 kg MFS), Alec Pantaleo (70 kg MFS) and Nate Jackson (MFS 92 kg), are expected to compete just days after winning gold medals at the 2021 Pan American Championships in Guatemala last weekend.

Heaton, McKenna and Gwiazdowski are also 2021 Olympic Trials runners-up.

The tournament starts with men’s freestyle June 8-9, followed by women’s freestyle June 10-11, and closes out with Greco-Roman June 12-13. Sessions start at 11 a.m. local time (5 a.m. ET) and 6 p.m. local time (12 p.m. ET). Fans can watch all the action live on FloWrestling.org and follow along on Twitter updates from @USAWrestling.

Micic wins Gold 10-0. Go Serbia :)

Pantaleo scores 2 TD and leads 4-0
Green with TD 4-2. Pd. 1 ends 4-2
Panteleo with near 4 but gets step out leads 5-2 ...2 min. left
Green with push out 5-3 with 40 seconds left
Pantaleo wins Gold 5-3

Green can typically out-athlete his opponents at 70Kg. Don't think he can vs. Pantaleo any more--at least not in the 1st 45 sec. (Pants up 4-0)

4-2 after 1. Green took a lot of blood/injury time, seems more composed.

5-2, 1 min left

5-3 0:40 (questionable step out point--pantaleo seemed groudned to me) More injury time for Green

That's it, Pantaleo beats Green. I think he's gonna be a fixture for us at 70KG. Has grown in skill every year since graduating.

Panatleo wins 5-3 on two TDs and a pushout. He got in a Green's legs quite a few times. As far as I can recall, this the first win for AP over JG, who has ruled 70KG domestically

Tough timing for Flo after putting out the recent Green documentary. New Sports Illustrated jinx?

I'm just saying, that info (if you're sharing, or asking) may be more easily seen and responded to on that thread, rather than the one about a tournament in Poland.

fair enough and I put it in here as this was the active one today. Not so much a question as the rumor is he is at PSU. I guess looking for confirmation.

Amine up 4-0 over a guy from Poland at the break of the Bronze medal match. Two turns off a high crotch. Wins 6-1. Added a late TD in the 2nd pd. Zahid V. up now in the gold medal match.

Zahid with a quick 2 off the opening whistle. Caught the Georgian off guard. Now another 2. Up 4-0 only 1:08 in. Now another 2 and another 2. Up 8-0 with 1:20 left in the first. And there’s the final take down for a 10-0 tech via 5 takedowns. He was too much for the Georgian to handle. Way too quick. Zahid with the Gold!

Valencia is a very physical and quick wrestler, especially for 86 KG. Just tech'ed the Georgian (who had nothing) in less than 2 minutes. Lot's of double-leg TDs

Moore up now at 97KG in bronze medal match with Karimi of Iran. Moore has made some improvements of late, but he was handled by Snyder at the Trials. Still has one more level at least to rise. Moore loses 2-2 on a slightly questionable TD by Karimi. Seemed like a push out rather than a TD to me, but hard to tell without a replay.
