Penn State - Ohio State Dual Thread

I'll keep that in mind next time I watch a game..........Now they have somebody's high school principal recapping the game.
This has to be it. No other school has had 5 returning champs before -- highly unlikely any two schools both had 4.

Kuhn takes the first shot off the whistle. Tomasello fends it off before eventually spinning behind for the first takedown. Escape Kuhn, 1-2. Then Kuhn counters a Tomasello shot and Kuhn scores. Place goes nuts.

Stalling on Kuhn for the ride. Escape Tomasello and then Kuhn returns him right back to the mat along the boundary for another takedown. Blood time for Kuhn and Rec Hall is losing it

Tomasello escapes and he scores next. Kuhn escapes, and it's 6-6 through 2 minutes. And then Kuhn with another takedown, his third against the former national champ. Kuhn's riding now right the right boot in and working a power half. After a reset Tomasello escapes. Kuhn fends off Tomasello and holds an 8-7 lead going into the second

Tomasello chooses bottom to start and Kuhn looks tough on top but Tomasello escapes at :52 RT, 8-8. Tomasello goes low outside single and gathers the next TD, 8-10. Tomasello with a tilt now, Kuhn almost rolls through but unable to clear it. Four NF for Tomasello, 8-14. Third period up next

Kuhn escapes, 9-14. Tomasello brings him right back, 9-16. Escape Kuhn, 10-16, and then another spin-behind from Tomasello, 10-18. Tomasello eclipses 1:00 RT before Kuhn escapes, 11-18. Tomasello with another TD and he's going to get this one by major, 12-21. Kuhn close to catching Tomasello for a defensive pin at the end

OSU up 4-0, but man what a first-period fight from the newcomer

Pletcher strikes first, 0-2, with a takedown about :56 into the first period. After a :25 ride, Keener with a granby and escape, 1-2. Pletcher in on a single, he elevates with some power behind it and brings Keener back to the mat, 1-4. Keener nearly with a reversal but they run out of room along the boundary. Keener is out after the reset, 2-4, and that's how it goes into the 2nd

133 - P2

Keener escapes, 3-4. Then they battle the rest of the period on their feet

Bear with me guys. WiFi is starting to crap out here now, I'll try to keep active with the updates

133 - P3

Keener on top to begin and he rides long enough to negate Pletcher's RT advantage. Pletcher is out with about 1:20 left to wrestle, 3-5. Keener pushes Pletcher to a couple stall warnings, 4-5, but not enough. Coaches appear happy with the effort tho as Keener holds Pletcher to a decision

Ohio State up 7-0

141 - P1

McKenna scores first and he puts on a tough ride against Lee. Lee escapes after a stalmate reset, 1-2, but McKenna sits with 1:05 RT. Lee is the next to shoot and he gets in on a low single and converts with about :36 left in the period. Lee rides out the period and takes a 1-point lead into the 2nd

141 - P2

Lee down to start. McKenna nearly gets a tilt but not long enough for swipes. McKenna builds RT to 1:45 before Lee escapes, 4-2. As time expires on the period, McKenna slips behind for a takedown and it's tied 4-4 with one period left

141 - P3

McKenna down to start. Quick escape, 4-5. Lee forcing the issue now with about 1:45 left. Crowd wants stalling but ref calls stalemate. After the reset Lee, spins behind for the TD. Quick McKenna escape, 6-6. McKenna in on a shot and hanging tight with :30 to go. Slow scramble now and stalemate called. Restart with :11 left and Lee is unable to break through. McKenna wins by decision, 7-6 with 1:32 RT.

Ohio State up 10-0

McKenna was effectively stalling, but got it done. Lee giving up the TD at the end of the 2nd period was a killer.

The loss at 141 really makes it a tall order now.
