Nassar's superior at MSU has been arrested

I don't know why people are surprised here. We bitch all the time PSU didn't stand up. Yeah, yeah, we were wronged. However, it sure as hell didn't work taking the blame. The BOT made sure of that. Dumbasses didn't even vett survivors, some of which were definitely lying.

I mean, don't you think they're doing this due to their lawyers? Not necessarily about right and wrong for them, more like CYA as much as possible. Once politicians get involved, like a certain Governor, "don't forget that little boy in the shower," it's easy to jump on board. They do what the outrage demands of them.

Bottom line, there's no reason to burn down a school due to a few bad apples. That's stupid mob mentality. Of course that's exactly what happened to us. Is this a bad situation, hell yes, it's a tragedy. So go get the bad guys and gals, and punish them. Make corrections to the system and move forward. Outrage does nothing but kill solutions. Look at our situation. All the bullshit outrage, and name one positive step PA did to stop anything? Not a damn thing. That's called a failure. So in the end, PSU paid out it's ass for no reason, they weren't responsible, the NCAA got on it's high horse, the BOT covered their ass, The Second Mile and all their leadership walked away, we got new politicians, and all were a bad copy of the previous ones, lawyers made millions, Pulitzer Prize awarded, media went crazy, made shit up, were lazy, legal agencies a total fail, so please tell me just what was fixed, and who was held responsible? Oh yeah, and WTF are they making a movie called Paterno and not SANDUSKY? That's what burning everything down gets you.

Great post. I don't think it makes us look better to root against schools like Michigan State. I get it it, we were wronged by a lot of groups and misjudged and that hurts, but the reality is that these perversions are taking place in every area of the country. Sexual abusers are all around us and it was so easy for everyone to compartmentalize this by saying "thats a penn state problem," and now folks are realizing that is a social problem. You are right, nothing has really changed, nobody seems to be enacting new steps to stop these guys before they start. We are all just throwing stones at each place this happens. I dealt with this crap in High School with our medical trainer....I'm telling you, its omnipresent in every institution, school, office, in this country.

Thank you. I just see what's happening today, and I don't like it. All the faux outrage from people that literally have no clue of what they're talking about. Nothing gets fixed or gets better.

The real issue is no one listens. If you have a different opinion you're a racist, you're an enabler, etc. etc. I've seen it with tons of PS4RS folks that have different political views. They work together on the PSU situation, then 2 seconds later call each other vile names, and label each other over politics. And they wonder why people label PSU's like Pitt fans do. It's complete nonsense. We know why it happened to us. We aided it, BOT, and Joe was the perfect target. Unfortunately, people love taking others down. They'd rather do that than seek the truth. In the end, only truth can prevent such horrific acts. You have to actually know how and why something happened. That's why Pitt fans are such fools. They'd rather hate, pretend they know, than actually know the truth.

A good true post.

What would make any and all vengeance from PSU fans go away is simple: An open and public apology from LuAnna Simon. In the newspaper as a full page add and at a short press conference.
Or maybe seeing the bigger picture? I know what she did, and I know exactly what she said. What I care about is a solution to a problem. We don't have that, and most likely MSU won't get it either. She's never going to apologise to Penn State. But I'm not railing on an entire institution for her actions, or lack thereof. And now we're supposed to do the same thing back to MSU? Sure I'm outraged and pissed at her, I'm just trying to see the bigger picture. I'm more pissed at PSUBOT, Ganim, HBO, the entire media, and politicians that accomplished nothing. This whole thing is nothing but a farce of corruption. That's what I'm pissed about.

^^ Probably the right take but I'm personally not ready to let Lou Anna off the hook quite yet.
I'm Lou Anna, oh don't you cry for me
I got several million dollars of Michigan State mon-eee.

Some of you have taken a compassionate approach to MSU. Noble motivations, no doubt.

But this is why it's hard for some of us to offer a helping hand to Lou Anna Simon, MSU trustee Mitch Lyons, their fanbase in general and don't forget --> MSU was one of the schools that used the Sandusky scandal and CJF's slowish start as a weapon of mass destruction to hurt us in recruiting. It was a tag-team with Pitt, if I recall, and it nearly cost us Miles Sanders. Might've cost us Corley, Vance and King who we all wanted but chose MSU and became household names as criminals in East Lansing.

Anyway, part of Michigan State's defense strategy was to laugh it off and say, "Hey, you guys, at least we're not Penn State, amirite??" How right they were.

1. First they tried to curb-stomp us out of the Big Ten,
2. Then they used child rape and NCAA sanctions to recruit against us,
3. Their trustees (especially Mitch Lyons) were openly trolling PSU fans on Twitter,
4. Their president Lou Anna Simon said, "People make mistakes, and some of those are purposeful and premeditated, and if you just take the Penn State experience, pretty pervasive..." before going on to explain the failures at MSU: "I have been told it is virtually impossible to stop a determined sexual predator and pedophile, that they will go to incomprehensible lengths to keep what they do in the shadows."
5. Even after Lou Anna Simon is fired, their chosen defense continues to be, "Well, at least we're not Penn State."

At what point do we stop making excuses for MSU? Based on the last 6 years, are they any better than Pitt or Rutgers? At least OSU never pretended to be above anyone's floor. Almost makes me like them, by comparison.

so please tell me just what was fixed, and who was held responsible?

Nothing was fixed and nobody was held responsible.

To wit: Fraudney stood at the microphone and declared Penn State would be a national leader in eradicating the scourge of child (sexual) abuse.

Instead, we have our state auditor general DePasquale criss-crossing the state trying to put out the fires burning on the front lines of CPS/CYS in all 67 counties. All Fraudney and his stupid statement did was just shoot out the remaining tires on Child Protective Services and caused it to careen off the highway and over a cliff.

But hey - "slapping sounds"

Are you effing kidding me??? Every media outlet known to man would have come in their pants if they found anyone at PSU (C/S/S/P) had video on their computer of JS doing anything even remotely sexual in nature. How is this not blowing up everywhere? Oh yeah, no one has heard of William Strampel.

"The university hired a former federal prosecutor to conduct an internal investigation to discover who knew about Nassar's sexual assault allegations, and when they knew it. But Simon declined to make the findings of that investigation public."

Looks like this "investigator" is even less sharp than Lazy Left Eye Louis the Liar! Or Lou Anna covered it up!?
Interesting point of reference. I don't remember reading anything about CSS having porn on their computers. And not that he's innocent, there was no porn discovered on JS's computer either, which experts have commented, is very unusual for a child abuser.

He's referring to Mr. Swim Trunks himself -- Jack Raykovitz -- who is amazingly still in practice as a licensed psychologist.

Yes, but most importantly, Penn State Football missed bowl games for two years. Don’t underestimate the impact that had on our players who previously had no idea that child sexual abuse was wrong.

WHAT FRESH HELL IS THIS?

I think this goes beyond that whole "pretty pervasive" thing now, Lou Ann K. Simon.

In fact, it has left the gravitational pull of the Earth, sling-shotted past the moon and is now streaking into another galaxy.

But hey, "slapping sounds".

Sweet Jesus.
Starring Dr. William Strampel:

If Dr. Simon doesn't pick up the goddamned phone FIRST THING TOMORROW MORNING and place a PERSONAL APOLOGY to:

GRAHAM

TIM

GARY

AND SUE

Then I don't know what the hell.

"Paid clinical skills model"? Are you kidding me?

Sweet Jesus - in an August 2012 email sent to the university's workplace of more than 11,000 faculty and staff, Simon reminded workers that MSU protocol mandates them to immediately report cases of suspected child abuse, SEXUAL ASSAULT and child pornography to the campus police department.

"The university strives to offer a safe and supportive learning and working environment for all individuals," Simon writes in the email. "In support of that goal, the University has reporting protocols for its employees with respect to certain conduct."

Hey now- that pillar of integrity Lou Anna Simon guaranteed all of us that she investigated Michigan State’s handling of these sexual abuse cases and found absolutely no wrongdoing by MSU. Nothing at all.

Which takes us back to this...

Looks like an institutional CULTURE problem in East Lansing, MI. #COVERUP

“Then we of course find the parents and the parents say, ‘Well, we heard rumors but we couldn’t imagine they would be true if he was still coaching.”

“He’s very charming,” Powers-Barnhard said. “He’s very manipulative. So everyone around him is groomed and manipulated and charmed. It’s hard to overcome. The reason we were abused is he groomed everyone one around me. My own father. Every other player, coach, parent. You don’t have anybody to go to. They all believe him.”

Because OF COURSE John Engler would stand by his rape-enabling volleyball coach.
