So then really anything could have happened. It makes sense to have Oregon, Ohio State and Penn State in different bowls as they'll travel. Kept Oregon close to home. Put Penn State in a bowl they've never been in before. Big Ten-SEC matchups as they're the best conferences.

The non playoff ny6 bowls are completely arbitrary now outside of the protected conference affiliation slots.
Which is irrelevant going forward as all the NY6 will be quarter or semifinals for the CFP
Go Liberty. They may have little to no chance but the "best" team doesn't always win.
Love it! Could have easily been us. Only thing better would have been Ohio State or Florida State playing them

For the past 10 years, a different P5 team played a G5 team in NY6 Bowls. Oregon hadn’t played one yet. It was their time.

A number of us angrily assumed it would be PSU vs Liberty. I think we need to continue be offended that it could have been us. We need to keep the anger flowing around here!
It was the Fiesta’s turn to take the hit. Both the Cotton and Peach had been stuck more recently with the token G5 rep.
