Better check your wrestlers...:):).

Consensus so far (using the highest frequency pick at each weight class);
-- Final score prediction is 39-7, PSU
-- Only weight class that wasn't 100%, one way or the other, is 174
-- 25% picked Mark, 75% Zahid, so far
-- Outlier, or bold picks include; one person picked Millhof by Fall, one person picked RBY by Decision, and one person picked Bo by Major.

The Millhof-bumping-to-133 appears to be picking up social media steam. Also noticed that some had a pick at 133 that included RBY vs Millhof. Not pawrestlerintn, but do know a thing or two about this competition :).

As it was not announced as a possibility early enough, it is likely (best if pawrestler says it, as he's now running the show) that bout won't count in this competition.

Just raising it here so there's no surprises.

Perhaps, but I usually go with a little more than just heart. At the Keystone Classic, I chatted with Mark about his past matches wrestling Zahid, and wrestling BoJo.

There was something I meant to do. What was it? Oh, yeah, score KYPSW for the Arizona State dual.

First things first, bigbopper, did you really think Cassar was going to wrestle 184 AND heavyweight? As I was going through the picks, I came to yours, and you picked him for both weights. I had given you the benefit of the doubt, before moving on, when I came to my picks. Sure enough, I used yours for my normal copy and paste, and didn't look at the names, just the decisions. How do I know this? Because you also used "Cenzo" for Joseph, which I NEVER do. Roar, I appreciate you trying to point it out to me earlier, but I didn't even see the message until today.

Next, about half of you didn't get the memo that Milhof might bump, so 133 gets thrown out.

Congrats to the 15 of you who had enough faith in Hall to pick him. To the rest of you (including me), Mark has something to say:
<insert air guitar pic here>

Finally, some of you didn't pay attention to the Match Notes, particularly at 125. If there's a discrepancy, check there first.

And, now, the moment you've all been waiting for, Southern Scuffle KYPSW.

KYPSW Southern Scuffle Style

The Southern Scuffle is January 1st and 2nd. For KYPSW purposes, it is a stand-alone tournament. Points from this tournament do not count towards your season KYPSW score, but 8 podium positions will be determined for board bragging purposes. After all, who doesn’t want to say, “I was Southern Scuffle Champion.” Well, maybe all of those teams that are running to South Beach.

Penn State is expected to have 15 wrestlers competing at the Scuffle. For each of those wrestlers:
(1) Pick where you believe the wrestler will place (1st, 2nd, 3rd, 4th, 5th, 6th, 7th, 8th, or "Outside Top 8"); and
(2) Pick how many total bonus points the wrestler will score throughout the tournament.

You will be awarded "placement points" with respect to #1 above, as follows:
- 6 points for picking a wrestler's finish exactly, provided the wrestler places 1st-8th;
- 4 points for missing the wrestler's finish by one place, provided the wrestler places 1st-8th;
- 3 points for missing the wrestler's finish by two places, provided the wrestler places 1st-8th;
- 3 points for picking a wrestler to finish Outside Top 8, and he does, indeed, place outside the Top 8;
- 2 points for missing the wrestler's finish by three places, provided the wrestler places 1st-8th;
- 1 point for missing the wrestler's finish by four places, provided the wrestler places 1st-8th;
- 0 points for picking a wrestler to finish 1st-8th, but he actually finishes outside the Top 8.
- 0 points for picking a wrestler to finish Outside Top 8, but he actually finishes in the Top 8.

Then, you will be docked "take-away points" with respect to #2 above, as follows:
- 1 point subtracted for every bonus point by which your prediction differs from what the wrestler actually scores.

Addendum 1: Bonus points include points earned from a medical forfeit.
Addendum 2: If you fail to pick placement for any wrestler, you will score zero points for placement, minus the number of bonus points that wrestler earns.

A few specific examples to further illustrate the scoring:

Wrestler A
- You pick Wrestler A to finish 2nd and score a total of 3 bonus points during the tournament;
- Wrestler A does exactly that;
- You get 6 placement points, minus 0 take-away points, for a total of 6 points for your Wrestler A pick.

Wrestler B
- You pick Wrestler B to finish 1st and score a total of 3 bonus points;
- Wrestler B finishes 5th and scores 2 bonus points;
- You get 1 placement point, minus 1 take-away point, for a total of 0 points for your Wrestler B pick.

Wrestler C
- You pick Wrestler C to finish 8th and score 0 bonus points;
- Wrestler C finishes outside the Top 8 and scores 2 bonus points;
- You get 0 placement points, minus 2 take-away points, for a total of -2 points for your Wrestler C pick.

Wrestler D
- You pick Wrestler D to finish Outside Top 8 and score 1 bonus point;
- Wrestler D finishes outside the Top 8 and scores 0 bonus points;
- You get 3 placement points, minus 1 take-away point, for a total of 2 points for your Wrestler D pick.

As you can see under the Wrestler C example, it is possible to finish with a negative point total for a given wrestler. Remember, if you do not correctly predict someone's total bonus points exactly, the difference will be deducted from your score.

This contest should prove to be fairly challenging. Here are the tiebreaker criteria: (1) most placement points, (2) most FOS/BWI posts.

All picks must be posted in this thread prior to the start of the tournament, which is 10:00 Eastern time Tuesday, January 1.

Maybe you could reward those who were responsible and prescient enough to get the 133 matchup and results correct with a reduced score (e.g., 2 instead of 3; 1 instead of 2). I suggest this only out of a sense of fairness (and I desperately need more points! :D)

You actually gave me 1 pt too many:oops:
285: I had Casser tf, but still got 3 for the slot?
Spirit of fair comp and all:cool:
Welp, in all the years of this contest, that may be a first. Someone pointing out that I was wrong on the high side. It almost makes me want to let you have the point, or give you half a point, in case of an end of season tie. For the time being, however, I've corrected the scores in the spreadsheet.

This might prove one thing for sure. It's not for money. :)
