Here are the scores for Nationals. The next message will have the raw scores by weight, for anyone that wants to see how your score was reached.

Congratulations to those that withstood the grind of the long tournament. Grapplecat grappled his way to the podium, finishing 8th. ZepGraffiti rambled on to the 7th spot. RoarLions1 graced his way to 6th. They were followed by adg297 in 5th and longtime player tom1973 in 4th. Johnstownsteel found his way back from HR to finish 3rd. In a wildly tight race for the top spot, bdoncsecz finished just two shy of this year's NCAA champion Eastern HWT! Congratulations to all, and thanks for playing.

I know, I know. Where in the heck have I been? And some of you are gracious enough to know that I know that you know that you are on the podium, and still wouldn't ask why the results haven't been posted. Anyway, without further ado, here are the final season tallies for KYPSW 2018-19.

Standing at the bottom of the podium, but on the podium, nonetheless, is the newcomer from Texas, PSUbluTX. In the seventh spot, is the guy who slept in a Holiday Inn Express last night, HOCKEYGOD11. Following HG, is perennial podium stander, RoarLions1, who is about to have enough time on his hands to take KYPSW back over. In the 5-spot is the undercover Robert Plant, ZepGraffiti. And, in the clean-up position is adg297. What can you say about him, when you haven't met him, and his username means nothing to you?

And, now, a drum roll, if you please. In third place, wearing the bronze medallion around his neck, is someone who I feel like I'm mentioning a lot for some reason, tom1973, from the 247 Sports board. Sporting the silver medallion is the heavyweight of the boards, Eastern Heavyweight.

And, finally, the man who wins KYPSW 2018-19 bragging rights for the next seven months. The guy (I think) who persevered through thick and thin to wear the gold medal, bdoncsecz!!! <Crowd cheering> Bdonsecz, I told the guys at your local watering hole to buy you a beer, so just tell them you're ready. Your winnings are in the mail. Be on the lookout for them.

And, finally, I need to give an award that sometimes pains me to give. (Hey, NoVaLion2, it's not you THIS year.) That is the Minkel Award. You remember him, I'm sure. The epitome of the struggling coach. The one who never seemed to put a solid season together. Well, it usually felt like he couldn't put a solid dual together. This award goes to the participant who finished dead last of all of the participants who played every dual, B1G and NCAA. There were 33, but only one can lay claim to the Minkel Award. Only, this wasn't a classic start to finish struggle, it was a letdown of epic proportions in the NCAA tournament, because this guy was near the top of the leader board all season long. And, it goes to tikk10. And, as far as giving a sucky award to a nice guy, this ranks right up there with giving it to NoVaLion2. But, as they say, someone had to win it, or lose it, or whatever.

Thanks for playing, y'all!

*takes a bow*

First to Worst! In the same season!

Not that I'm making excuses for my nationals disaster, but I recall spending about 3 rushed minutes on it and didn't give it the time it deserved. Not that I'd have definitely made different picks if I had more time, but I did spend time during the regular season scouting opponents.

I'll gladly take my AA status once again.. Would like to thank all the small people in my life who make it possible.. :p:p

Edit.. yes .. I also want to thank pawrestlerintn for doing this..

Ha...anyone else notice the little nudge ol' pa gave me?

I wish to thank the man that runs this show, pawrestlerintn, as well. :):)

This little competition has become a staple both here and On the Mats, so worth mentioning the history, if anyone is interested...
-- Started in 2013-14, by slush (slushhead, formally) and me. Must say that slush did the heavy lifting during the season, while the concept, rules, and development was a team effort. That first season saw the top-8 as jimbokropf, tom1973, Tired14, roadking95th, BoulderLion, psufan1015, caliPSUfan and myself.
-- slush continued running it on Scout (at the time), and I believe pa took it over three years ago (2016-17), adding BWI to the competition in 2017-18 (is that correct, pa?)

So here we stand, after six seasons, and going stronger than ever. Knowing how much work (time & energy) it takes to run this thing, I can say it's no small feat. Thank goodness pa is married to one of the sweetest, "forgiving" women I know. A simple thank you doesn't seem like enough.

Thanks so much for your work. I mailed you a check for my entry fee last fall but it never cleared the bank. Maybe the USPS lost it? Looking forward to next year!

Yeah thanks to all who made this fun. This was my first year, and my engagement fizzled out late in the dual season. I’m going to focus my offseason training on being ready to compete for the whole season next time.
