All of the others have a higher frequency of "down" seasons and poor records whereas that is exceedingly rare for OSU.

I'd rather go 8-4 two, three times a decade if it meant I won a title a third of the time more than everyone else.
LSU also lost a national title game in 2012.
They are 3 for 4 in last 20 years. In the title game 20% of the time with a 33% higher success rate than everyone but Bama....They are the #2 program in the country.
They'll never be as popular as UGA or OSU, never have been, never will be, but they get results those two dream of.
LSU has it all, more titles than everyone but Bama, pretty much more NFL players than anyone, 2 of last 5 Heisman trophy winners.
