Seems more like he got put in a bad light because he was fired, words were said by a few players about being misdiagnosed, and he’s just trying to wash the stain away.

Maybe. Maybe not. The bottom line is no one (outside the individuals involved) knows anything about the situation now.
Even if it never goes to trial, Info will become public once press conferences and depositions are held. Current/ former players will be asked their experiences (you can bet Davey Jones and Flounders are calling around already.).
There’s no use getting all worked up until we know what it is that we are getting all worked up over.
The $50,000 number is just to keep the case out of Arbitration (small claims Court). It means nothing, really. Curious that the Complaint does not name the athletes allegedly involved....
I would guess he just wants a better severance than he got. Any settlement from PSU will salve his ego which was probably bruised by being fired.
I can't imagine he would want to pay for the expenses of a trial, only to have Penn State bring in players (and we know who they are) whose care didn't work out so well under his watch.
From the article:
"He is seeking more than $50,000 in damages from the university in his suit. He claims Penn State officials violated his rights as a whistleblower."
WHISTLEBLOWER. No doubt the doctor and his lawyers will consult with mcqueary to figure out how to get millions from Penn State. Based on history, it should not be too difficult.
Are you fing insane? To lump us in with OSU and MSU with respect to penalties, National perceptions and not receiving the benefit of doubt is obscene. We were punished egregiously and subjected to public ridicule. Please detail for me the equal punishments that OSU and MSU received. Why are we all so quick to dismiss what this doctor is saying? I have no idea if he is right or wrong. We seem quick to dismiss this cause its Penn St, but yet the heavy majority of people on here would be slamming the coach at (insert University "x") if it were them. This has been out there for a couple hours let's wait and see how this turns out. We have no idea if some players might start coming forward, or maybe this doctor has an ax to grind with Franklin.
There are certain schools that regardless of a story don't get the benefit of the doubt based upon how they have handled previous transgressions. Penn St., Michigan St, and Ohio St, are just some of the recent ones that from a national perspective are not going to get the benefit of the doubt. Like I say, there might be nothing to see here, or there could be a lot to see here. It's not as if James Franklin has had a squeaky clean reputation over the years. His time at Vandy saw some moments of questionable character and decisions with players.
I replied to this specific post because the significance to the tweet has nothing to do what the allegations are. Why didn't James tweet that yesterday. Let's just wait and see where the story goes before we start blasting trainers and/or coaches for their roles in the allegations.
Doesn't Dambley get a cut of the settlement?Ask for a small amount, use the term whistleblower... hope PSU just writes a check so you go away. It's just going to keep happening thanks to the OG BOT.
And or grievances that were 10s, even 100s times worse that what was alleged at PSU.Are you fing insane? I guess it didn’t happen with his kid. Does that means it didn’t happen at all?
well...I don't know of any time when said "pressure" rose to the point where a Dr. sued.Guessing it’ll all come down to what the definition of “pressure” is.
If there’s a CFB coach in the country that doesn’t exert “some form of pressure” to get his players back on the field, I’d be totally shocked.
(In the meantime, the BOT has reconvened to discuss raising their offer.)
or is this the very example of what the Doc is talking about? Maybe Franklin thought he was healthy enough to play, but the Doc would not release him? CJF knows he cant over rule the Doc, so publicly he says he is being careful with him, privately he is telling the Doc the kid is good to go, let him play and we will see.Sure. Can you link any examples? The doc who was fired didn't have any in his lawsuit.
Or you can just give me one example of a player who was rushed back from injury. Franklin has a long history here of being overly cautious with players who are injured. Five star WR Justin Shorter dislocated his kneecap last summer and Franklin kept him out most of the season as a precaution. Sure as shit could have used him last year.
"If McQueary can get 10 million for doing nothing, why can't I?"
Came here to see Penn State fans blame the doctor without knowing details
I totally agree. without any real evidence being presented, this could be something or it could be nothing. They guy may have been a royal pain in the butt and when canned, filed a lawsuit. On the other hand, there could have been kids that were hurt and someone on the staff tried to convince the good doctor to release them for practice. Nobody knows.Doc: “Coach, I don’t think XYZ should play this week.”
Examples of “pressure” responses:
“Why not?”
“Are you sure?”
“Could he play 10 plays if we need him?”
“Can he play next week?”
Other examples of “pressure” responses:
“Are you FUDGING KIDDING ME?”
“I know where you live!”
“I’ll have your job!”
Unless something is in writing or on video (doubtful)....or unless numerous athletes or parents come out in support of the doc (also doubtful, but remotely possible).....I think this is just an attempt by the doc to retaliate for being let go. Ego restoration.....easy money.
Joyner is the gift that keeps on giving. According to this article, someone from the BOT stated the move to Lynch was for "cost savings". What a joke.

its a difficult call...with no real clarity to base these kinds of decisions. And that ambiguity creates the opportunity for misunderstandings. That leads to law suits. At some point, a player being injury prone has to be considered. Look at a kid like Adam Breneman. He just couldn't stay healthy. Then, leaves the program and becomes a great TE for UMass. Injuries and how you play through them are part of the game. There are many who have likely watched more football than me...BUT based solely on my own limited observations, bringing back Star Player X when they are clearly not 100% rarely exhibits much more than an intangible encouragement of teammates.
For every example of Kirk Gibson in the World Series (ok, different sport) or TO in the Super Bowl, there are countless other star players whose 100% is difference-making but whose 80% is NOT difference-making, albeit encouraging.
So in this case the implication is that it was injured, (less than 100%) backup players being rushed back to the practice field???
You know, for a while now I have been trying to give that guy the benefit of the doubt. But recently I have become convinced he really does not like anything Penn State. I am going to put him on my punch list.LOL, of course David Jones is all over this on twitter. Christmas came early for that Buckeye f'er.

No, you wouldn't have to believe all that..
All you would have to believe is that Lynch was retaliated against because he raised an issue vav the handling of student-athlete injuries/playing status (part of that, of course, would be that he and CJF did not see eye-to-eye on some of them - whether or not those disagreements elevated to "undo influence" would be up to the suit to settle out... and that would, I believe, be the potential sticky wicket for CJF).
Whether that happened or not? I have no idea. (And, if one cared, one will probably never find out anyway)
You are worth what they pay you....what is his compensation? You know, for a while now I have been trying to give that guy the benefit of the doubt. But recently I have become convinced he really does not like anything Penn State. I am going to put him on my punch list.

Every college has had "a guy doing inappropriate things with kids on campus" at one time or another.Wait...was there or was there not a guy on campus doing inappropriate things with kids?
I'm just going off this timeline of events: https://www.cnn.com/2013/10/28/us/penn-state-scandal-fast-facts/index.html
Forced him to buy Pitt season tickets.Just wondering what kind of "pressure" Franklin could apply to a specialist such as Dr. Lynch?
Did he make him run extra sprints? Stadium steps? Perhaps up downs.....
I was lumping you in with MSU and OSU because they have been in the headlines for the wrong reasons lately. Similar to PSU being in the headlines for the wrong reasons. Nobody can question the punishment aspect of this in terms of PSU getting punished harder than any other institution, specifically those ones I mentioned.
All I'm saying is we have no idea what happened with this team doctor and the player(s) involved. Just like we have no idea if James Franklin did pressure him. This is all allegations or speculation at this point. My point is that when you are a school (not just PSU) that has been in the news over the past few years for the wrong reasons - people will begin to bring up the past. Right or wrong that's just what happens.
