At what point do you stop and try to help someone that is being beaten in front of you? When the man is having his head kicked in is where I get out, because it has moved from a fight to attempted murder.
I get you don't know the situation but as a human being when do you try and help? Not everyone can help and I’m ok with that if you don't feel like you can safely intervene. Calling the cops is the appropriate response for everyone, but if you are able to get out and help you do it.
That is a tough video to watch.
It's one thing to want to help, but another to be legitimately concerned that you could be injured or even killed (does the guy have a gun?) trying to help
Where is LeBron? Isn't his ex teammates black life worth saving?Cuban offers help, picks up Delonte West by car
Mavericks owner Mark Cuban picked up Delonte West at a Dallas gas station on Monday and is attempting to help the homeless former NBA player get his life back on track, Cuban confirmed to ESPN.www.espn.com
Witnesses say Delonte attacked the other guy with a broken bottle and started the fight. Then proceeded to get his ass kicked after attempting to murder the other guy. You internet heroes still going to go save him?

I always appreciate your thoughtful, nuanced takes. Nothing is as simple as it might seem.Yes, because he is a human being. If he did attack someone first he is wrong for having done so. Do we allow someone to be beaten to death for that is the question.
A very strong rumor here is that delonte was having an affair with LeBron's mom. In fact, I know people that know several players who speak of it as complete fact. LeBron found out during a playoff against the Celtics when LeBron just quit in the middle of the series. LIke him or hate him, he never quits.Hahahah, awesome

I don't know the details of this case but if someone attacks you with a deadly weapon, you are well within your rights to beat the living crap out of him. it is called self defense. Now, if the guy has been beat up and lying there and you come back five minutes later and crush his skull that is a different story. Anything less than that, good luck proving which blow ended the guys life.
I should also point out that West is mentally ill, as many homeless and drug addicted are.

I, personally, don't think that is fair. I hate the politicization of sports. There is a reason why Tom tried to keep politics off this sports board (it seems they've given up) and it is the same reason why I was against Kap kneeling during the anthem. James is doing what he thinks is right. He's done a ton of good in Akron with his "IPromiss" school in Akron. And he's been a great rule model as he's been a good citizen (one wife, one baby mama, never in trouble). I know he gets the calls and the NBA promotes him to death but that isn't his fault. What is he supposed to do, call a foul on himself? It doesn't involve police so LeBron and his hypocri-posse aren't interested.
I understand....but submit his heart was in the right place. I get it. If you don't think black people are treated differently you are not paying attention. Now, I also think that in many cases people are their own worst enemies. IMHO:He could have not tried to shut down the NBA after defending a criminal's actions.
I totally agree with this. When I think of LeBron's path I can't help but think of his childhood buddy Maurice Clarett. Two wildly hyped Ohio prep stars. Think about that fork in the road and how they each took a different path. I can't help but wonder if some folks "pick" on LeBron because they were so wrong. They thought he would bust and not only did he live up to the hype but he far exceeded it with zero police blotter and criminal nonsense. I would hate to think people are that jealous and petty but who knows.I, personally, don't think that is fair. I hate the politicization of sports. LBJ is an all time great and he is trying to make the world a better place along the way with his actions. We need more LBJ's not less in this world. I find it laughable people criticize him for providing an intelligent discourse but listen to political loud mouths on tv that all they are providing is political porn to line their own pockets and all they do is try to divide the country further and further into Red State/ Blue State divisions. IMHO.

I will acknowledge that there are athletes and celebrities out there that are bad people but LBJ isn't one of them.
I also haven’t seen him give any money to support Prostate Cancer awareness...I’ll just determine that because this isn’t a primary cause of his, that he must be a bad person and wants us to all die of Prostate cancer.Does his and your world include China and Hong Kong??

Does yours?? What do you actually care about China and Hong Kong other than a talking point to attempt to downplay someone who doesn't agree with your politics?Does his and your world include China and Hong Kong??

Him saying he’s afraid to walk down the street because he’s a black man in America and he’s afraid of the police is NOT intelligent discourse.LBJ is an all time great and he is trying to make the world a better place along the way with his actions.
