They failed to make the playoffs the last two years. And got bounced in the first round prior. Now they are relying on a 38 yr old QB coming of reconstructive elbow surgery, a 3rd round back up that struggled this past year, and an undrafted rookie. Plus an aging Oline that looked bad.
To compound their problems, they are in a division that has two Heisman winning QBs in Baker Mayfield and Lamar Jackson. Jackson has been tremendous and Mayfield had some games in which he looked very good. If the Browns ever get a good coach they could be a very good team.
Plus, to make things worse, the Bengals are sure to draft another Heisman winner in Joe Burrow who looks tremendous. He is from Cincinnati and would be a huge boost to that team.
That means the Steelers could be facing all three of these very talented QBs for the next ten years, assuming they stay healthy. Could be a long stretch of playoff free seasons for the 'burgh.
