One of the many college coaches who failed at the pro level. He was nothing without Luther and Dauber.
And Bob StoopsHad Barry Alverez on staff too.
And Alvarez took a few key Iowa coaches with him to Wisconsin.........said he could have taken more, but out of respect for Fry that he did not.....Alvarez was at Notre Dame when he went to Wisconsin, but was still well connected at Iowa.......I think this was the beginning of the end for Fry's career.Had Barry Alverez on staff too.
I always liked Hayden. Maybe better at recognizing coaching talent than even as an X's and O's coach. His coaching tree is fantastic: Bob Stoops, Barry Alvarez, Kirk Ferentz, Brett Bielema, Dan McCarney, and Bill Snyder to name a few. Many were on staff at the same time in the early 80s.What is our feelings on coach Fry

That would be Ronnie Harmon.I remember some blue hairs later saying Iowa's players took bribes to fumble that Rose Bowl game.
4 fumbles in game after only 1 all seasonThat would be Ronnie Harmon.
