When you give up two TDs in the finals, expect to lose. Carr won fair and square.
I don't buy that for a second. He's probably wrestled a thousand matches and has the best coaches in the world in his corner plus he's in an arena with scoreboards all over the place. You don't just forget the score in the national finals.
I am not sure how there was not another stall the last minute. Backed edge to edge thrice and took a half shot
But an Iowa fans always says going backwards is stalling lmfao. True nature coming out of js. Just can't shake that Iowa stench. Congrats to carr

I can’t believe that. I was worried about that match but MM performed better than I expected actually. I don’t think Mitch will lose another match in his college career
I usually think your observations are pretty accurate but in this case MM was taking ground and shots. Doubt Carr took twice as many shots or even more shots than MM.
They were on the other side of the mat and the crowd was screaming, he couldn’t hear them.
Regardless of pace, the match was 2 takedowns to 1.
Tough to get upset at a loss when you lose the takedown battle and riding time.
Well he clearly thought he was going to OT. While he has wrestled a zillion matches how many has he wrestled with RT points and especially when he ever had to consider it?
I do hate that guy's are allows to force guys out of bounds when they are riding. If you are riding and push a guy out or should be an automatic stall. Makes it easy to get riding time with the constant restarts. Just one of my pretty peeves.
It was a factor, but MM overcame it. Bigger and deciding factor was that he apparently thought the bout was tied and stepped of the gas the last 30-40 seconds. He had to keep the pace up but didn't.

Carr’s a good guy, Messenbrink is on the same path of a few studs - DT, Ruth, ZPain, Nolf, Nickal, Levi). Good season, come back bigger/better!
I don’t agree. He got out in about :25 seconds and also drew another stall call. He got 2 points in that sequence. He just needed to keep attacking the last 20 seconds of the match and he wins
Yep. And knew he had him tired and would go for it in OT
Mitchell doesn't think it's good wrestling by not taking a shot in the last 30 seconds when you're down one. It's pretty much the opposite of what he preaches.
These announcers are brutal. Actively rooting against Penn State.
