SCUM news pretty interesting

I'm not sure it's bizarre. People want to know how serious was the act that got the player suspended. It could range from being 5 minutes late to a team meeting to being a suspect in a liquor store robbery. Last summer PSU dismissed LB Daiquan Kelly from the team after he was on campus for just about a month. Don't know if anyone has ever gotten the full story on this, but at the time it was blamed on "immaturity". That leads to a lot of questions.

Same with injuries, I think people just want to know will he ever play again and, if so, how soon. Zwinak, Nassib, and Breneman are some recent examples.
I hope BODE doesn't find out about Kelly because he's been very clear how wrong it is not to be upfront with player indiscretions.

You guys keep hoping that he has worn out his welcome. Far from it, the fans love the guy and the beat writers are fine with him as well. It's the out of town writers that seem to motivate him to look at them like they are stupid, which most of them are.

Um yeah the beat reporters looked really happy with him yesterday... their faces showed how happy they were with asking him 1 question and stomping off when he didn't get his way.... take another hit...puff puff pass

I think you need to reconsider your position. If charged with a crime it becomes the public's business, but until then it's not our business nor should it be our business.

Wrong, it absolutely is the Conference's and press' business what has been reported to the NCAA if these kids did indeed test positive for a banned substance and failed a drug test as the NCAA has MINIMUM SUSPENSION REQUIREMENTS depending how many times you fail. tO$U's OBTUSE HANDLING of, and OBFUSCATIONS about, Noah Spence's initial drug test failure being a perfect example (tO$U's AD, Smith, attempted to claim his initial failure was the result of a "Supplement Drink" which is laughable given that he tested positive for Ecstasy both times!).

tO$U was feeding the media that they weren't sure how long his "Second Suspension" would be (his first suspension was one game, the bowl game), because his first positive test was not his fault bull$hit - turns out that the B1G rule for 2 positive tests inside one year is permanent loss of eligibility in the B1G. Complete nonsense that it is "nobody's business but HarPuke's and scUM's what exactly has transpired here!

HarPuke's playing dumb, refusing to answer legitimate B1G media questions and acting like he really knows nothing regarding this situation is beyond disingenuous and disgusting behavior. So did these kids fail drug tests? If so, have the failures been reported to the league and are they serving "mandatory suspensions"? If they're serving "mandatory suspensions" for failing formal drug tests for banned substances, what are the length of the suspensions? (has to be something fairly serious as Shelton Johnson already used his RS last year and he will lose eligibility - how much depends on the NCAA and B1G minimum requirements that apply).

It's been one year, most marriages are great in the first year. Give it time, it will wear thin just like everywhere else he's been.

You guys keep posting that but I don't recall him wearing thin at SD or Stanford. Seems like myth becomes truth simply because it's repeated so many times. Sort of like the 15 yard noise penalty that never happened even though so many here "witnessed" it.

Oh really? Here is what transpired with Noah Spence's First Suspension which was originally reported to the Columbus Dispatch by the tO$U Athletic Department as resulting from a "Dietary Supplement" -- oh yea, the B1G originally suspended Spence for a full year and then reduced it to 3-Games (even after the league became aware it was for the drug Ectasy, not a "Dietary Supplement") upon tO$U's and the family's appeal. Gee, something tells me the kid might have done better if the B1G had stuck to the original suspension (i.e., the standard suspension for the incident) instead of reducing it to 3-Games and making the kid think it was no big deal such that he went right back to using Ecstasy and tested positive a second time within a 1-Year timeframe which by B1G rule is permanent suspension!. Yea, all that obtuse bull$hit and obfuscation the tO$U Athletic Department pulled (just like scUM and HarPuke are doing right now) really turned out to be in the best interest of the kid....LMFAO. When a team suspends a player for violating its rules, the issue typically goes away. When a league imposes a suspension and the school helps the player during the appeals process, it can get ugly.

That's the situation we have with Ohio State sophomore defensive end Noah Spence, who was suspended last week by the Big Ten for three games for violating a league rule. The Columbus Dispatch reported that Spence tested positive for a banned dietary supplement, but Spence's father has told a very different story to WHTM-TV in Harrisburg, Pa.

According to Greg Spence, Noah tested positive for a small amount of the drug ecstasy, which Greg said Noah took unintentionally after it was slipped into a drink he received from people he didn't know at a recent party. The Big Ten initially suspended Noah for a full year before reducing the ban to three games following the family's first appeal. The Spences made a second appeal, which was denied, and Greg told WHTM that the family intends to sue the conference.

There seems to be some confusion about how ecstasy is classified and whether or not is should be considered a performance-enhancing drug. The NCAA classifies ecstasy as a stimulant on itsbanned substances list.

In its release announcing Spence's suspension, Ohio State noted that Spence's family disagreed with the Big Ten's decision and the punishment, and that Ohio State aided the family during the appeals process.

Ohio State athletic director Gene Smith declined to comment when reached via email today. Head coach Urban Meyer didn't say much about the situation last week before the Discover Orange Bowl.

Barring a change, Spence will have to sit out Ohio State's first two games against Navy and Virginia Tech next season after missing last week's Orange Bowl against Clemson. He led Ohio State with 8.5 sacks, ranked second on the team with 14.5 tackles for loss, and also recorded 52 total tackles, a forced fumble and four quarterback hurries this season.

He led Ohio State with 8.5 sacks, ranked second on the team with 14.5 tackles for loss, and also recorded 52 total tackles, a forced fumble and four quarterback hurries this season.

BTW, here is the original reporting from the Columbus Dispatch:

Note the Dispatch Reporting this 5 days prior to ESPN's Rittenberg's Report (Columbus Dispatch reported it January 2, 2014, while Rittenberg's ESPN article ran January 7, 2014).

Also note how similar tO$U's Athletic Department and chum-bucket Coach's responses and misinformation campaign are to the press relative to the Press Conference performance Jimmah Douche-bag just turned in....(i.e., Huh? Not sure what you're talking about? Players weren't in the team photo? News to me. Oh, a couple of those players that I have no idea about missing the team photo are suspended.... [Really Coach, which ones, for what and for how long?] Go phuck yourselves. This is an internal matter and nobody's business....[Gee Coach, but what if they're league/NCAA mandated suspensions, wouldn't that make them the league's and NCAA's business? Are they league / NCAA mandated suspensions?]....I said go phuck yourself, it's being handled internally.....I'm leaving, again, go phuck yourselves.).

Neither Big Ten officials nor Ohio State officials specified the rule. Ohio State announced the suspension, noting that Spence and his parents, Greg and Helen Spence of Harrisburg, Pa., did not agree with the ruling and that Ohio State had assisted them “in exhausting the appeals process that was available to them with the Big Ten.”

Coach Urban Meyer did not confirm the cause for the suspension, but he did speak of the appeals process and that he thought Spence, an all-Big Ten sophomore, had a strong chance of winning.

“I was just disappointed that the appeal didn’t go through,” Meyer said after a rain-soaked practice yesterday. “Noah is one of my favorite players, great family, great person. But you’ve got to move forward.”

You realize he simply can't take away scholarships, right?
Yes he can. The NCAA and B
Whatever it was that got these guys removed from the team, it must have been serious. Committing rape doesn't get you kicked off the team at um.

Don't forget the AA OT threatening the victim with a beating for reporting it.

Well, CBS sports has a list of schools that give multi year scholarships.... Michigan is not on the list. However, as the great Nick Saban said in the article, it makes no difference if you have a one year or multi year scholarship, they can be terminated at the end of each year.
True. Nick knows the rules. Then again, Harbaugh can pull an offer from a kid who committed to him, pulling it just a few days before NSD.

Um yeah the beat reporters looked really happy with him yesterday... their faces showed how happy they were with asking him 1 question and stomping off when he didn't get his way.... take another hit...puff puff pass
Take another hit? Puff, puff, pass? Don't "Bogart" Me.....

I witnessed an extra 2 seconds in Ann Arbor.
Not sure what that has to do with this discussion but it was a good call. Ho look at the play clock. It continued to run after he was out of bounds.

Good Ol' Jimmah is getting crucified in the press. So much for the love and fun that M&B refers to with Jimmah and the press. He is getting just shredded. First thing discussed is how quickly his act is going to wear thin in Ann Arbor. Jimmah will be back in the NFL within 5 years.

Yeah, I didn't make any mention of JH and the press. And frankly, I couldn't care less.

And I wouldn't hold your breath on him going back to the NFL.

Radio show host Jim Rome took Michigan coach Jim Harbaugh to task on Tuesday for abruptly ending a media session Monday night after being asked about three freshmen who were absent from the team photo.

Harbaugh said two of the three were suspended and the matter was being handled internally. He cut things short after being asked to identify the two and the length of the suspensions.

Rome, on his “The Jim Rome Show” Tuesday, said the questions were fair and called it a “jerk move” by Harbaugh to end the news conference. The show host ranted at length about Harbaugh and played the exchange several times.

“Maybe you forgot over the summer that it’s their job to cover your team, not asking you what your favorite Drake album is,” Rome said on his show. “Just like they’re not there to write another tired story about your latest throwback jersey, or your Walmart khakis, or your latest shirtless photo from satellite camp, or another (attack) on the SEC.

“They’re not on your staff, they do not work for the university. You preside over an alleged national power. If you suspend guys, reporters are going to ask you about it. They’re just doing their job, so you should do yours and answer the question.”

Rome said Harbaugh is just as “miserable” as he was in San Francisco.

“If anybody thought this was going to be a kinder, gentler Harbaugh since he went home to Ann Arbor to rescue the football program, make no mistake, it’s the same exact guy,” Rome said. “Nothing’s changed. Same guy. Same insanely intense dude that got run from Frisco, because he was miserable. He runs way too hot and he was wearing people out. Don’t get it twisted now. Great coach. Unbelievable coach. I’m sure he’ll do a great job there. But when you have a coach who wins as he wins and nobody is ever sorry to see him leave, that tells you a little something about that guy.”

“So with that 10-win season in the rear view, God help anybody who asks him who his starting quarterback is going to be,” Rome said. “Or how come he can’t beat Urban Meyer, or when he’s going to beat Urban Meyer, or why he pulled a scholarship from a recruit. Good luck with any of that.

“Michigan fan will love this guy for winning. They’ll love him even more if he gets around to beating Michigan State, and even more than that, if he can finally find a way to get over Ohio State. But anybody who thinks Harbaugh is wired to grow old in that job is kidding themselves. Enjoy it while it lasts, because even though it’s his alma mater, it probably won’t. This cat runs way too hot. If he can’t get through an August press session, media session, when they’re asking him about guys that are not in a team photo, this guy’s not going to last long.”

And yet after the 2014 tO$U game, corrupt b1g shiz-hole Referee O'Neil and Replay Official Tom Fiedler said such clock reviews are "not reviewable" (which is a blatant lie as the rule actually states that CLEAR and egregious clock discrepancies are reviewable and clock reviews have happened throughout the NCAA including in BCS Playoff games!). Weird how "fungible" b1g Rules are depending on year, game and who the call is benefiting (the screw-job of taking the onside kick away from PSU in the 2014 scUM game on an abysmal call as replay proved another classic example!).

My, my. All these posts about a Michigan story. Isn't there anything to report on in Happy Valley ??

Jimmy responds to Rome on twitter. Seems like it's easy to get under Jimmy's skin.

The responses to THIS NBC Sports ARTICLE about Harbaugh and his press conference tantrum are hysterical. Yes, the general sports public is taking Psycho Jimmy's side over the medias'......uuummmmmm NOT! LMFAO.

Haraugh will burn out his welcome in Ann Arbor just like he burned out his welcome in SF and in my neighborhood in Indy. Guy’s an ass and will always be an ass.

HarPuke is a complete PR nightmare and psycho no matter where he is at - he's got serious character issues and treats others like $hit which makes his whining all the more bizarre (most rationale people expect to be treated "in kind" - i.e., the "golden rule".....you act like a piece-of-$hit, @sshole prick for no reason, you should expect that people will treat you in the same way). Psycho Jimmy's PR nightmare personality, which reflects extremely poorly on scUM and their hiring "priorities", will ultimately cost Jimmah his job just like it has everywhere (i.e., he'll wear out his welcome -- people don't appreciate being treated like $hit for no reason whatsoever). HarPuke acts like an entitled, snot-nosed, 6 year old @sshat who has his "priorities" in life way out of whack (for instance, he thinks winning football games entitles him to walk around acting like a self-impressed, douche-bag jack@ss).

This is exactly why I'm here. Laughing my tail off at you spazzing out about JH. So much hate and so much craziness. Awesome.

This article about Jimmah's abrasive, crazy personality is telling:

I especially liked this comment from his former player with the 49ers, Alex Boone:

"He just kind of wore out his welcome ... He wanted too much. Demanded too much. Expected too much. ... And you'd be like 'this guy might be clinically insane. He's crazy.' "

Everybody says the same thing about Douche-boy, but they're all crazy and Jimmah's the only sane one according to the scUM trolls on this board, LMFAO.....

Michigan continues to shovel money at Jimmy. . .

Michigan and football coach Jim Harbaugh agreed to a contract amendment that will increase total payments from the school to $9 million in 2016.

In addition to paying a $5 million salary for each of the remaining six years on his deal, Michigan also will loan Harbaugh $4 million in 2016 and an additional $2 million for the following five years to pay the premium on a life insurance policy.

http://www.espn.com/college-footbal...creased-compensation-form-life-insurance-loan

That's one hell of an annual life insurance premium.
