Very suspicious. What items would an inmate possess in a maximum security prison that would serve to barricade a cell door? My guess is zero.

There are a few items that they have in their cells that could be used. A mattress would be one item. Another thing many prisoners do it also to block the window on the door with paper or cardboard so you can't see inside.
The time they found him would be consistent with a formal count time. I know in the FEDS they count the inmates at 12AM, 3AM and 5AM so that would line up with the time they found him.
