11 observations from today....
1) 51 needs to start at the 3 tech DT
2) 70 needs to start at guard.
3) Menet is somewhat a disappointment. He's good. I expected him to dominate this season.
4) 1 on defense is improving. I think he is going to be fine.
5) 38 on defense really struggles in every aspect.
6) 13 on D is slow to read plays. Explains why he could never jump JJ last season.
7) 14 takes a beating. I have no issue with 7 replacing him on the 3rd or 4th in short situations.
8) 86 and 84 really blocked pretty well today.
9) 3 is really good
10) 9 is really good
11) 24 has good power and vision. Reminds me of Tony Hunt. 26 plays nervous but he's young. He needs to work on his balance.
If the OL can build on this performance they might have a chance to be good going forward and into next season. We rushed for over 250 yards. I get UM sucks on defense but we ran the ball well in the 4th Q at critical times to close the game. Call me an optimist.

Unfortunately the best thing you can say about Wade (#38) is he didn’t jump offside today.
I would not mind seeing Hartlaub get some snaps at free safety. He is known to be one of the fastest players and he does a great job as the gunner for PSU.
