Dennis Onkotz is on my list. He was over shadowed by Jack Ham.
Boyd was the hardest hitter of any PSU player I can remember, Boyd and Ray Isom.
Ray Isom knocked silly one of my teammates when Ray was a senior at Harrisburg HS. I was grateful I rode the bench.

Sometimes I thought Boyd wanted the receiver to catch the ball....so he could take his head off, just a great player.
I think it safe to say, not entirely due to the new targeting rules, that we’ll never see another PSU player like James Boyd.
Here’s a question for youse: are players today coached to not hit like James Boyd did? They surely are coached to protect their heads.
Jim, I believe that there is a PA statute that requires all Penn State players to refer to him by his full name: Ray “Pound for Pound” Isom. I’ll let you off with a warning this time.
