Which is amongst the worst in the Conference and well below the national average. This stat was referenced on BTN Live (as was the fact that their LBs did not record a tackle against Tulane).

Quite a bit has been made about how bad PSU's rushing defense has been, but duhO$U's has not been much better - PSU has allowed 4.0 YPC (9th in B1G), while duhO$U has allowed 3.8 YPC (7th in B1G). Neither of these rush defenses are good, especially for these schools, but people are missing that this advantage is even bigger for PSU than it is for duhO$U as PSU has the most potent rushing attack in the B1G (PSU is averaging 6.4 YPC best in B1G, while duhO$U is averaging 5.4 YPC, 5th best in B1G). But you haven't heard much about how bad and vulnerable the duhO$U rush defense has been (and is) out of the BTN talking-heads - things that make you go hmmm.

For as many defensive players that they dump into the nfl, they must just underperform while in Cbus. Always a lot of hype surrounding tosu’s D, yet they never really live up to it.

I feel like they have Bama talent in terms of recruiting but just don't get those kind of results. You would think at some point that the recruits would notice. Top 2 or 3 talent goes there and they mildly disappoint with maybe top 10 finishes. Whereas a Penn State has been producing the same results with maybe an average of about top 25 recruiting talent amongst their classes.

Urb isn't exactly a defensive genius. Seems like OSU defense is only as good as the athletes they have on the field. Even then they seem to underperform as a unit. Tressel had some great defenses with less talent.

You shouldn’t take stats at face value.

Allowing two 75+ yard TD runs vs. Oregon State with true and redshirt freshman all over the field skews that stat just a tad.

Ohio State’s first half rushing defense stats (when the starters are in before being pulled 3 out of 4 games) is 4th in the B1G at 2.75 ypc. Meanwhile Penn state is 11th at 5.18.

OSU gave up 5.64 ypc vs. TCU, but that’s because of a 93 yard run. Brutal to give up that kind of play but the other 35 carries netted an average of 3.14 ypc. And TCU ran an extremely uptempo offense which caused OSU to be out of position a number of times. PSU doesn’t pose that kind of uptempo threat.

Add in tOSU is missing their best Defensive player and it should be an even bigger advantage

PSU starts rotating players on about the 3rd series all year...so they don't wait for the 2nd half, so your stats above are not accurate re PSU

Don't bother pointing out factual reality to troll-boy here...it means nothing to him...his personal opinions and "agenda" are far more important and paramount to actual factual reality.:rolleyes::rolleyes:
