In the spirit of more wrestling talk, which program has the most potential All Americans for 2019?

Obviously the maximum a program could have is 10, and there are a few programs that could reach that this year (PSU being most likely in my opinion), but how many kids does PSU have that would be realistic contenders for AA status if they were to be the starter?

I'm coming up with 14: Teasdale, Teske, RBY, NLee, Berge, Verk, Nolf, Cenzo, Hall, Bo, Rasheed, Cassar, NNevills, SNevills. I'm most on the fence about Teske and SNevills just because I haven't seen them much and they haven't been talked about much because they're likely backups for 2019.

What do you guys think? Would JLee or Manville be fringe AA's if they were thrust into startership via injury? Am I completely off base about either guy at 149? Does any other program come close to 14? I think I remember reading Okie State has 8 guys coming back who have been AA's so they could be close.

RBY @ 133?? Touted as really good, however, I keep hearing how 133 is stacked with high quality wrestlers. Just my thoughts.

149 looks to be the most challenging from an AA perspective. Rough pre-season rankings.
  1. Yanni - CORN
  2. Ashnault - RUT
  3. Jordan - OSU
  4. Kolodzik - PRIN
  5. Deakin - NW
  6. Lugo - IOWA
  7. Thomsen - UNI
  8. Oliver - NCST
OKST is deep here, Wick from WIS, Leeth from MIZZ AA last year. Where do you see Berge or Verkleeren fitting in.

133 no cake walk either.
  1. Suriano - RUT
  2. Gross - SDSU
  3. Micic - MICH
  4. Lizak - MINN
  5. Mueller - VIR
  6. Parker - LEH
  7. DeSanto - IOWA
  8. Picc/Fix - OKST
Pletcher - OSU, Bridges WYO AA last year, Tariq Wison - NCST. RBY has his hands full here.

Good wrestlers in a good room, here's hoping they break into the top 8.

BTW, first post, love this site.

Verk only lost 5-3 to Thomson at the Scuffle. I know it's only one match and I don't remember if that was a close 5-3 or not (too many cross face cradles cloud my memory from that event). That gives me enough confidence to say at least 10% chance Verk could AA.

RBY's performance at the U23 trials makes me think he's got a decent shot at AA this year, but that list you provided is very impressive.

How do they figger that Suriano should be in front of a returning national champ, aside from a weight jump?

Granted, Thomsen was not as much on his game last year compared to his freshman year, but it also seems weird that Lugo is above Thomsen, given that their one head to head bout that they had Thomsen beat him.

And, oops, I'm, again, late to the party, but when was the announcement made that Diakomihalis was going 149?

I think 125, 133 and 149 will be tough for PSU to have an AA. Especially 125 and 133 with true freshman. I truly believe there is a huge difference for a college wrestler from their freshman year vs their redshirt freshman or sophomore year. At least Berge and Verk at 149 will have been in the room over a year. Makes a huge difference.
