    Would like to see a big splash for the next verbal, someone to really open the flood gates up. Not that the 2 in hand aren't good recruits. But I'd love to see a top 50 guy jump on board and be that vocal leader that recruits a few more himself.

    I understand that view, however, the OP defined breakout star by being a 1st time 1st or 2nd team B1G performer. John was honorable mention as a soph, which is why by the OP's definition he will be a breakout star this year.

    Can't believe that no one has mentioned John Reid. He was our top corner as a sophomore and would have been 1st or 2nd team B1G last year if not for his injury. He was better that soph year than any of the secondary guys that are off to the NFL.

    I'd think that he would have to see the upside of even a little improvement from him in the offseason combined with his ability to showcase it on a completely different stage because of his teammates growth giving them more than just the occasional Ohio St wins to do so.
