Say goodbye to the Britain of legend

The sun never sets on the Union Jack. We will fight on the beaches...on the landing grounds...in the fields...in the streets. Churchill said that...but Churchill is long gone and so is the country he led.

In its place we've got the new Woke UK, which is a nation right out of some bizarre Orwellian novel where the rulers hate their own people, the population is cowed, the government has thrown wide open the country's borders to an invading foreign horde, parents are arrested for objecting to the brainwashing of their kids (first link), and the privileged ruling class openly declares its racist hatred of citizens for the crime of being born White (second link).

As an ethnic Irishman, I find a certain grim justice in all this. Long ago England was to Ireland as modern Russia is to Ukraine. Except England was a lot worse.

Yet the same thing is now happening in Ireland so it's hard to feel sorry for the Emerald Isle of my ancestors.

In the bigger picture, the whole thing is a chilling object lesson in where most of Europe now is...and where America is heading if Dem-Media gets back in power.

OT - World Golf Village in St. Augustine

Hello! I am going to a wedding in early June in St. Augustine. I planned on staying at the Marriott at Sawgrass and playing the TPC Course twice and the CC Course across the road. Unfortunately, the TPC Course is closed for the entire month of June (save June 1).

I looked into the World Golf Village but the hotel there has very bad reviews. It also appears that some of the original attractions have been closed (iMax theater and others). Does anyone on the board have experience with the WGV hotel, the courses and the resort in general?

Can anyone recommend another resort near Saint Augustine where my wife can enjoy a pool bar while I play golf and we can enjoy other amenities after I finish my 19 hole round?

Thanks in advance!

James Webb Space Telescope updated Jan 13, 2024….😱 Video of discoveries far and near!🧨

The Webb scope will be 100 times stronger than the Hubble. Think how amazing the Hubble is and then try to imagine what the Webb will discover.

The launch date is flexible and can be launched on any day unlike many launches with narrow windows. Then after launch it will take a month to be positioned 1.2 million miles from earth to the second Lagrange point where it will be in a stationary position. Then it it will be several more months before it is fully activated. So next spring we will be re-writing all of our science books!
