Session 4:
Round 3 of Best-of-3 Championship Series (if necessary) in the five weight classes not yet qualified for the Olympics. Followed by Round 2 and Round 3 (if necessary) in the 13 weight classes qualified for the Olympic Games. The session concludes with the presentation of the U.S. Olympic Team.

Another record that's in play: In 1986, Iowa won by 73.75 points. PSU currently leads by 83.5.

Lastly, thanks again to @SlipperyPete12 for his PBP's this weekend. Great job! And to everyone else for their informative posts as well!

I thought Askren had some good thoughts on the two major controversies from this weekend.

1) MM-Burroughs - Askren essentially says that's who MM is, he loves to fight, he straddles the line, the head shove was well deserved, and that he's had to choke MM in practice many times to get him back in line. Overall, pretty funny discussion from one of the last people that could be accused of anti-MM bias.

Also interesting discussion about when MM started training with him and how one of the big issues he had was keeping his composure. Ben used to purposely try to get him mad so he could learn to control himself. Reminded me a lot of the process with
Desanto in the Iowa room.

2) The PSU fans - I agree with him on this too. When a crowd gets large, it doesn't behave rationally. It gets swept up in the emotions of the event and sometimes does things that nobody would ever think they'd do outside of that context. I don't think it's an accident that the two notoriously poorly behaved fan bases are Iowa and PSU, the two largest by far. Get everybody together and people get wild and those in the crowd who actually suck become more emboldened to misbehave.

Any chance he is moved to WR at least in the short term if the WR room does not improve?

The Transfer Portal opens up this coming Wednesday and remains open thru May 3.

Does anyone transfer in? Does anyone transfer out (ie Bearclaw)?

Seriously amazing accomplishment tonight but if a certain 4x champ comes back I could easily see next year's team beating this record.

LL should outscore Davis' output
Davis/Nagao should score more
Bartlett should at least equal this season
SVN/Kasak should score more
Haines should at least equal this season
MM should score more
Carter should score more if he has access to both legs
Barr should be able to match Truax
Mirasola will score less but will score
Kerkvleit should at least equal this season

That's three weights were they improve and only one where they take a hit. There is no doubt this is the most dominant team in sports.

Posted on GIA this morning that Tom Ryan was involved in a serious auto accident today. Two broken legs and a broken hip if reports are accurate. Here is hoping for a full and speedy recovery.

So says this guy. Pumped about this recruiting class.

One caveat: this was two months ago and he still has KLS on the team.
