Draft coverage

Rich Eisen turned the NFL Network broadcast into a Michigan Wolverine pep rally. He had an orgasm when Blake Corum was finally drafted. It got so bad I actually muted the TV for a couple of minutes.
I guess they earned all of their accolades but - and I hate admitting this - Harbaugh was the best coach in the B1G and top 2 or 3 in the country. They'll have a huge drop off - especially on offense - with all of these draft picks.

This kind of reminds me of their NC in 1997. They had some super players and then disappeared for 20+ years and their recruiting is really substandard coming off a NC. I look for OSU, Oregon, USC and PSU to be at the top of in the B1G in the future

Carter returning?

Dake 3 behind Snyder, Snyder 5 years younger
The question was who will win more than Burroughs, not who will end up with the most.

Dake probably won't -- he's currently 4 behind Burroughs and already 35 (2 yrs younger than Burroughs). But Burroughs has likely won his last world medal, and Dake is wrestling better today than Burroughs did at the same age. So it's unlikely but not impossible.

Great draft points up failures of our 2023 offense

So Olu the #11 overall pick...Wallace high 3rd round...I'm thinking Nourzad in either the 4th or 5th round. If I'm right about Nourzad, that would make three NFL-caliber players, one of them a potential future all-pro, on our 2023 OL.

Good news for those guys and the Penn State brand, but it's even harder now to see last year's frustrations on O, to include the often sputtering run game (despite the talent in the backfield), as anything other than the result of a flawed offensive system and underachievement on the part of the coaches. Hopefully the change in offensive coordinators will successfully address those issues, but Yurcich arrived amid similarly high hopes.

Sorry, don't mean to rain on the parade of what's shaping up to be a great draft for Penn State players. I'm glad so many of them will get a shot at the next level.

Carter returning?

Varner also struck Gold in 2012. Varner now coaches/helps other team USA guys reach the goal of World and Olympic medals. JB spends his time being bitter that his skills are eroding at a rapid pace and still try to hang onto every opportunity to self promote. Anything JB accomplished was for JB. He was great. He isn't great anymore and should quietly go away if he really cares about the sport.

Tim Ferriss to lead discussion with Jordan Burroughs, Neil deGrasse Tyson at 2024 Beat the Streets Annual Benefit

This ought to be interesting "Burroughs and deGrasse Tyson will share with Ferriss how the sport of wrestling has shaped their success and lives." https://www.btsny.org/post/tim-ferr...se-tyson-2024-beat-the-streets-annual-benefit

U17/U20 Nationals 4/24-28 in Las Vegas

I feel like Henckel is kind of slipping through the cracks and not being talked about enough. He has been super impressive this tournament. Good measuring stick match against Ryder
I was thinking the same about Henckel. He's got two techs (1:09 & 1:42) & a pin in 1:28. That's a lot of work in under 5-min. It'll be interesting to see him against higher ranked opponents.

Abdul Carter

Some of us expect standards of behavior even for players on our favorite NFL teams. The fact that money is involved doesn't have to make it just about winning games. As fans, we have the final word on whether the NFL punishes bad behavior or not.
So the only punishment that upholds standards of behavior is game suspensions? And let me know when an NFL team has standards of behavior that involve game suspensions for misdemeanors.
