@andegre ..posted about this in another thread and just wondering. Since this year they are counting MFF's as losses, will that play into wrestlestat?

For example Cornella..he MFF to Evans after wrestling Bartlett..Wrestlestat shows his record as 1-1. Shouldn't it be 1-2?

Not picking on Cornella.just the only one I noticed MFF without being hurt. I hope NCAA takes notice and counts these losses against people for seeding purposes

The rulebook is your friend.

Art. 12. Medical Forfeit. A medical forfeit is an action that allows a competitor who fails medical examinations, is injured, or becomes ill during the course of tournament competition to forfeit their match(es) without having to weigh in(see Rule 9.1.8 for medical forfeit and weigh-ins for national qualifying events)or show up at the mat. In tournament competition, medical forfeits advance ina bracket until they meet an opponent.a. In order for a medical forfeit to be official, the medical personnel, oran authorized institutional representative, shall inform the tournament director before the ill or injured competitor is called to the mat.b. Medical forfeits count as a win for the opponent and do not count as a loss for the forfeiting wrestler. Even though medical forfeits do not count as a loss, they must be placed on the wrestler's Individual Season RecordForm in the Trackwrestling system.

Forgive me as I wouldn't know where to start looking for these rules. That being said..NCAA changed it this year..I was referencing this (see below) which someone else posted and I remember hearing..

The first medical forfeit results in a loss on the wrestler's individual season record. The exception is when a medical forfeit occurs immediately following an injury default. This new rule discourages wrestlers from using the medical forfeit when not injured. Before, wrestlers could medically forfeit, and their record would not be affected.
