Look at other sports. Off season is a time to train and September is when it’s go time.
I expect all players will be ready.

Some guys want to come in loaded and then cut.. some prefer lean and mean and then add on. Weight in March is a useless discussion. See me in August.

For the most part I agree, however I'm concerned about Shaka Toney's weight loss. He's undersized, underweight and he has yet to go through the fasting month of Ramadan which causes drastic weight loss for him. I would have liked to see him heavier, knowing he's going to lose weight this summer.

...he's a member of the water polo team...
...bulk helps buoyancy since he's displacing more volume... :)

The way I look at it, it seems clear from the past four years that somewhere between 230-240 pounds is where the kid’s natural weight is and where his body is the most comfortable. He was effective as a pass-rushing specialist in 2017 at 230-235 pounds, and he can be effective in that role again in 2019. Maybe he won’t ever be heavy enough to be an every-down DE in the Big Ten, but he can still have a nice role at his weight and it seems preferable for him to just own his natural weight than pack on pounds that he’s destined to lose.
