Throughout the season, I'll do my best to post a weekend recap each Monday for Penn State's Class of 2018 commits. Many of those prospects don't begin their season for another week or two, but some of them kicked off their senior season on Friday or Saturday.
QB Will Levis - FILM - Middletown, Conn. - Xavier
Xavier will begin its season in two weeks, Sept. 8, when they take on Norwich Free Academy. Below are highlights from Levis' first preseason game against South Windsor.
RB Ricky Slade - FILM - Woodbridge, Va. - C. D. Hylton
Hylton began its season Friday, Aug. 25, with a 35-14 win over Robinson. Slade had 17 carries for 189 yards and three touchdowns. He added two receptions for nine yards. You can read more about the game HERE.
Slade and his teammates have a bye week next weekend. They'll take on Osbourn (0-1) the following Friday, Sept. 8.
WR Shaquon Anderson-Butts - FILM - Harrisburg, Pa. - Harrisburg
Anderson-Butts had a handful of receptions, including a 36-yard touchdown. Harrisburg had a big, 33-14 win over Imhotep Charter, beginning their season at 1-0.
The Cougars will take on rival Bishop McDevitt (1-0) next Saturday, Sept. 2.
WR Daniel George - FILM - Oxon Hill, Md. - Oxon Hill
Oxon Hill will begin its season next Saturday, Sept. 2, when they take on Chopticon from Morganza, Md.
WR Justin Shorter - FILM - Monmouth Junction, N.J. - South Brunswick
South Brunswick will begin its season Sept. 8 when they take on Old Bridge from Old Bridge, N.J.
TE Pat Freiermuth - FILM - North Andover, Mass. - Brooks School
Like most New England teams, the Brooks School won't begin its season for a few weeks. They'll face Roxbury Latin, from West Roxbury, Mass., on Sept. 16.
TE Zack Kuntz - FILM - Camp Hill, Pa. - Camp Hill
Camp Hill kicked off its season Friday night against Palmyra. The Lions led the entire game, but fell apart in the fourth quarter, allowing two touchdowns in the final 10 minutes to lose 24-21.
Kuntz was only targeted three times on offense, resulting in zero receptions. He did have a big interception to flip momentum in the third quarter, which ultimately led to a touchdown. Kuntz also had six tackles and one QB hurry on defense. He also had a blocked field goal. You can read more about the game HERE.
Camp Hill will look to right the ship on Friday, Sept. 1, when they face Lancaster Catholic.
OL Nana Asiedu - FILM - Stafford, Va. - North Stafford
North Stafford began its season Thursday, Aug. 24, with a big 56-15 win over Osbourn from Manassas, Va. Asiedu helped pave the way for top 2019 RB Devyn Ford, who rushed for 231 yards and four touchdowns on just 19 carries. You can read more about the game HERE.
Asiedu and his teammates will take on Briar Woods (0-1) on Thursday, Aug. 31.
OL Bryce Effner - FILM - Aurora, Ill. - Metea Valley
Metea Valley began its season Friday, Aug. 25, with a 35-7 loss to Neuqua Valley. Effner did not participate due to illness. He expects to be cleared for his next game. You can read more about the game HERE.
Effner and his teammates will now take on Naperville North, from Naperville, Ill., on Friday, Sept. 1.
OL Antwan Reed - FILM - Muskegon, Mich. - Muskegon
Muskegon began its season Friday night, Sept. 25, with a big 56-0 win over Pioneer. Reed helped pave the way for 560 yards of total offense. You can read more about the game HERE.
He and his teammates will now take on Stevenson (1-0), from Lincolnshire, Ill., on Saturday, Sept. 2

OL Juice Scruggs - FILM - Erie, Pa. - Cathedral Prep
Cathedral Prep began its season with a statement victory over arguably the WPIAL's top program, Pittsburgh Central Catholic. The Ramblers defeated the Vikings 40-7. Cathedral Prep threw for 233 yards, totaling just under 400 yards of total offense. You can read more about the game HERE.
Scruggs and his teammates will take on Erie Friday, Sept. 1.
