February and March are the best of the wrestling months. February, maybe along with January, contain the best of the dual meet season, and March contains the two biggest College Wrestling Shows around, the Big Ten and NCAA Wrestling Championships. The Penn State guys, starting tonight, are putting the finishing touches on resumes that will influence/impact their seeds for the post season. None are without a challenge, though you can see below some have more challenges than others;

PSU Wrestler: Competitors (Intermat Rank)
Davis: Ayala (7), Peterson (19), Smith (13)
Nagao: Schreiver (20), Shawver (10), Van Dee (19)
Bartlett: Woods (2), Moore (19), Hardy (7)
Kasak: Rathjen (12), Cetta (26), Lovett (1)
Haines: Franek (5), Robb (7)
Messenbrink: Caliendo (6), Taylor (16)
Starocci: Kennedy (7), Turley (13), Wilson (33)
Truax: Soldano (19), Pinto (3)
Brooks: Glazier (11), Poznanski (22), Allred (13)
Kerkvliet: Hill (29), Slavikouski (8)

Of course, some of the matches listed may not happen for a variety of reasons. All our guys can do is wrestle the man in front of them. Let the fun begin (or maybe "continue" is a better word).

Out of all of those matchups, PSU has the higher ranked guy in every match except Cal vs MM tonight.

This team is pretty good.

That would be one helluva dual.

IMO, out of all the psu guys that aren't ranked #1, Davis and Mesinbrink have the best shot to make it to the finals. Kasak as good as he is, has a very tough path to even get in the top 4 let alone finals.

It amazes me how close MM looks to be a title contender with the two heavy hitters at his weight.

Truax is gonna struggle come semis if he even makes it there. Nagao, well the finals are about locked with Vito and Fix.
