It’s like asking why the Long Drive guys aren’t on the PGA TourAnd it was his first FG attempt since 2017 in high school. Do they use regular balls in the UFL? How can someone that can kick a 64 yard FG not be in the NFL?
Not quite. It’s like asking why the Long Drive guys aren’t on the PGA Tour
Yea, but things like accuracy and consistency matter…kicking it far is a small part of the jobNot quite.
Kickers don’t have to tackle or throw or catch the ball. They have one job; kick.
I watched parts of both of these games today. The talent level exceeds the average of NCAA Division I. Why would anyone become invested in football players who are employees of colleges? College football has definitely peaked.Yea, but things like accuracy and consistency matter…kicking it far is a small part of the job

The majority of the UFL players have played in the NFL. The majority of NCAA players will never play in the NFL. Just watching parts of three games so far the skill level of spring football is higher than the NCAA. Why would you have any great attachment to a college’s “employees” which is where this seems to be going. There are about 130 division 1 teams. Looks like there are going to be about 50 that dominate the future. I don’t think any increases attached to the 50 will offset the decreases to the other 80 whatever metric you want to use. I just think because of all these factors the intensity for college football is going to decrease. It certainly has for me.Fans are generally invested in teams. College players graduate and move on between 3-5 years. Do you move from team to team yearly as players graduate?
Talent level? 8 teams is a small sample size to compare to College football and the 130+ who play D1. Not to mention the difference in age and experience level.
Define peaking. What is your metric that you base this on?

No problem. I guess I’m relying on intuition as well as logic.Again, 8 rosters vs 130+. Take the 8 best college rosters and do the projections. It'll be a high number. College doesn't get to cherry pick guys who failed out of the NFL either.
50? College has been dominated by less than 10 programs for the past 20 years.
I understand where you are coming from, but I don't foresee the decline any time soon.
Today they had a fake field goal where the punter threw a 40 yard touchdown pass to the center. Never saw that one before. No problem. I guess I’m relying on intuition as well as logic.
He was consistent on this occasion. He kicked a 64 yd FG that was waved off due to a time out. Then he came out and did it again.Yea, but things like accuracy and consistency matter…kicking it far is a small part of the job
