Hospital admissions reported 7 day rolling average is 1,898 compared to one week ago 1,821 UP 4.2%.

0.0M shots yesterday (no reported number apparently due to holiday) so total up to 330.6M with the 7 day rolling average at 1.1M. 86.3% of shots administered is the national average, 54.9% of population with 1+ dose (70.8% of the adult population), 47.4% of population fully vaccinated.

So far, 182 million Americans have received at least one dose of a vaccine. At least 157 million people have completed a vaccination regimen.

4,405 positives reported yesterday compared to 12,134 week over week. 7-day rolling average is at 12,063.

Fatality was 23 compared to 39 yesterday and 154 week over week, 7-day rolling fatality at 203.

Hospital admissions reported 7 day rolling average is 1,820 compared to one week ago 1,830 down 0.5%.

Obviously some super low numbers due to holiday. probably won't get a real picture until end of week once all states report in and all the back data is put in for the last few days.

Back to the hospital for you @BobPSU92 . It’s time for your sponge bath

Holy crap.

I like the infected/uninfected badge idea. We need more class/lack-of-class distinction. o_O
Instead of a Blue Badge for Not Infected, and a Red badge for infected, lets require everyone to wear a Brazilian Steakhouse YES/NO coaster around their neck. Green and you are good, and everyone can tell. Get a bit of fever, or a small cough, and flip it over to Red to alert everyone. Tongs supplied to minimize potential spread for Bob

so when i use the public restrooms I am breathing in other people's $hit? that sucks.
100% pure, unadulterated shit gas.

Jokes aside....the lunacy only grows over time, although this Twitter thread is right up there for "best" story of the pandemic.

It's so bad that there hasn't been any fear porn on it in nearly a year.

interesting to note that a lot of south america is using the Chinese vaccines as the majority of what is being given. and it is known that those vaccines have relatively low effectiveness (reported at around 50%). so would not shock me to see that those chinese vaccines are not effective against some new strain.

In other words, we’re screwed. Again.

He's one of the kings of fear porn. He was so against re-opening schools in the USA yet he moved to Austria so he could have his kids attend in-person schools
He is indeed one of the kings. I generally like to view both sides' opinions on various matters--but this guy is to the extreme of extreme. I find it amusing to see his Twitter rants. An alleged epidemiologist using news articles to state facts, manufacturing quotes, etc. One of his recent "facts" was that Delta transmits in 5 seconds.

never going in a public $hitter again. just going to carry around a dog poop back in case of emergency, also looking into adult diapers.
You know, there was a great episode of some engineering show that dealt with how many lives were saved by the introduction of sanitary conditions (sewage lines and treatment).

It was in the millions.

Typhoid, Cholera, a lot of other diseases eliminated or dramatically reduced because we have modern sewage disposal.

Think what our immune systems were up against 200 years ago.

i have read that there is some thought that one of the reasons that so many died at Valley Forge back in Revolutionary War was that they had the latrines right upstream from where they took their drinking water from.

Well south americans are pouring through our open borders right now in massive waves. So much so that they are being housed in high densities in huge makeshift encampments with poor ventilation. I wonder if that's important at all to anyone?

I wonder why anyone would do that.

0.61M shots yesterday so total up to 331.2M with the 7 day rolling average at 0.86M. 86.5% of shots administered is the national average, 55.0% of population with 1+ dose (70.9% of the adult population), 47.5% of population fully vaccinated.

So far, 183 million Americans have received at least one dose of a vaccine. At least 158 million people have completed a vaccination regimen.

11,612 positives reported yesterday compared to 13,362 week over week. 7-day rolling average is at 13,708.

Fatality was 202 compared to 23 yesterday and 313 week over week, 7-day rolling fatality at 202.

Hospitalizations reported 7 day rolling average is 11,418 compared to one week ago 12,026 down 5.1%.

Hospital admissions reported 7 day rolling average is 1,843 compared to one week ago 1,843 down 0.0%.

So interesting today that the daily positive number got backfilled in and went back up to 13,708 but the daily fatality number did not move and is still at an all time low of 202. Something to really keep an eye on the next few days as the rest of the back data is reported but would be pretty great to see that fatality number stay down there the rest of week.

How did the virus jump from Delta to Lambda so fast? I must have missed epsilon, zeta, eta, theta, iota, and kappa. Or don't the variants go in order (maybe they never were taught the Greek alphabet order). Or maybe they were 1 hour wonders, and disappeared. Next on deck is mu, nu, and xi. A few more, then we get to move to the Chinese alphabet for the variants.

Variant xi would be very apropos since it all started in China with Chairman Xi.

All those variants exist.
So cool. I checked the CDC site and learned something new. Thanks

Hospital admissions reported 7 day rolling average is 1,991 compared to one week ago 1,864 up 6.8%.

So vaccines falling off a cliff again with average down to 0.73M per day. The daily positives actually holding relatively steady at the 14K+ value for the last few days, be nice to see that stay below 15K. Hosptilizations on the rise.
