One of the worst losses in school history

Was going to post same thing. Woeful offense vs. a defense not ranked in the top 100. Ranked #102 allowing 427.9 yards per fame. We got 1/2 of that. And 1/7 on OT plays.

No the 33-13 lose to the Illini in 2010 was worse than this, never had a chance.

This loss is 100% on Franklin. He was checkmated by his own decisions in the Iowa game and before this game even started: the constant musical chairs of assistant coaches, starting the season without a viable backup QB, replacing an O line coach with one who can’t develop players, the obsession with a big play offense that can’t manage to convert a 3rd and short. All of these things will get you killed in the BIG and he should know this by now.
I realize the injuries are significant this year, but the difference is that teams that are actually elite have the depth to cope with them much better than this squad. Even if we have the depth, it seems to take us much longer to get players ready to play.

Return to the dark years. Most difficult part of the schedule coming up with no QB.

How ironic that CJF was beat by a backup QB today.

Either the offensive line coach, the players or both. Our line is putrid. Very little if any push. You simply can’t run the ball this poorly and do well

Oh good lord.

Neither QB for Illinois was worth anything today. The best thing that happened was when they'd drop back to pass. Bielema is an idiot for not ending this charade in the 3rd OT after gouging us for 300+ yards on the ground. He ended up getting his starter (for this game, at least) a broken arm. He's as much of an idiot as Franklin. Difference is one guy made a play.

So Franklin has 2 bad records @ PSU:
1) Started 0-5 @ PSU
2) Lost in a 9 OT, longest game in FBS

A short and very incomplete list of worse losses- some of you people have short or no memories.

1972-Tennessee
1976- Iowa, Pitt, ND
1984- pick one
1988- Rutgers, Syracuse, Pitt

Clifford should not have been playing.
If he is as handicapped as he was today in future games, there’s a significant chance he will get more seriously injured. He couldn’t move very well and he couldn’t make a lot of his usual throws, which means defenses are likely to get more shots at him in the pocket. An oh, by the way, our pass protection also sucks.

So worst loss in over 30+ years?

In terms of losing as favorite, when was the last time Penn State lost as a larger favorite than today?

That was the biggest fvcking load of crap excuse ever. Floored me that many here bought it.
I was going to reply to that with a LOL but didn’t even think it was worth a response.
