Looking for a monocular for shooting and night vision.

I have no previous experience using one. I believe I understand the 8X36 or 12X50 designation with the first number being magnification and the second the size of the lens. I just want to be able to use it when shooting a handgun into targets maximum 25 yards away to see where I am hitting my rounds and to observe some wildlife during daylight and night hours. I am looking to keep it at probably a maximum of 200 bucks. If somebody could educate me on what would be more practical in magnification and lens size and the theory behind why I would appreciate it and any advice on a monocular to buy would also be helpful.
