The Asian games are happening right now. So far just 2 men’s freestyle weights have went. At 65kg Mongolias Tumur Ochir teched Irans Amouzad 11-1 in the finals! Tumur Ochir was a favorite to place at worlds but lost early and didn’t get a chance to wrestle back. He was incredible this tournament though teching his way through. Bajrang also competed but ended up 5th. This was the first time since 2017 that he didn’t place at this tournament.

The other weight contested so far was 57kg. Hasegawa from Japan won gold beating Han from PRK in the finals.

At 86kg both Yazdani and Dauletbekov are entered. Dauletbekov was bronze at worlds this year.

Tazhudinov is entered at 97kg. He is in the quarterfinals now. Should have a easy time to the finals but will likely have a tough match in the finals against either Goleij from Iran or the winner of Yergali and Ishiguro.

Zare is a huge favorite at 125kg. Will probably have Munkhtur in the finals

Not sure who is likely to win 74kg. The favorites are probably Emami from Iran, Bekzod, Yash (IND), Toktomambetov, and Evloev.

Only the Olympic weights are being wrestled

Holy wow. Just last year I had the feeling Amouzad was on his way to a #1 p4p ranking. The world is a hard level to master. Makes what DT does all the impressive, IMO.

Ok, Yazdani is in there, but international wrestling without the US has it's challenges.

You did say it was the Asian games, how did these guys perform?

Emami won 74kg, Yazdani won 86kg, Tazhudinov won 97kg, and Zare won 125kg. Yazdani teched everyone. Taz won 6-0 over Goleij which is a good win. Goleij usually keeps it close with everyone
