Any academic casualties that didn't qualify out of high school?

How about in previous years. How often does a recruit not makeit on campus because they fail to meet qualifying standards.

Thanks

For any program? What is your question?

One year U of Miami had 15 recruits was ranked consensus top 2 and only had 5 or six guys show up the next fall. Many were academic casualties but others were in prison or missing persons (whereabouts unknown), or in rehab and never matriculated.

Sometimes a recruiting ranking needs adjusted a year or two after the fact. Never happens as far as I know.

Not too often around here. Our staff is usually straightforward and truthful with the kids before LOI so that our staff can help them make a good choice on Prep vs Juco. You should probably check with those liars to the west at sPitt. Their best recruit, by far, was joyfully carried along without any direction just so their coach could claim one recruiting victory. Had Nardouche sucked it up a long time ago perhaps the recruit wouldn't be headlines all over and somewhat of an embarrassment.

Sounds like just one guy is still unaccounted for, though the claim is that he'll still be there for the season.

What'll also be interesting is if any guys are bound by the new mandatory redshirt if your grades are below a 2.3 GPA.

Yeah, Barber is still unaccounted for from the 2017 class because of academics, but it still seems like they're planning on him arriving in August. Chavis from the 2016 class was also a question mark until late in the summer coming out of his JUCO, but he was able to get here by fall camp. Those are the only two who signed an LOI that I can remember recently where there was a question about whether academics would prevent them from arriving on time - but doesn't count guys like Adam McLean (sp?), the DT from Maryland who the staff appears to have told that he likely wouldn't be able to sign an LOI here because he was questionable to qualify. There might be a few more of those types over the years, but those can often look like decommitments without more details given.
