PATERNO on HBO. Tonight at 8:00 pm ET (official thread)

Charges would certainly not be pressed if the prosecution's "victim" did not testify for them (or would in fact testify on behalf of the defense). The "victims" for the most part seemed willing to support Sandusky until the $$$ started flowing.

What did Joe Paterno really know about the Sandusky scandal at Penn State? Washington Post Article

Until Coach Paterno's public reputation is restored and those who were wrongfully convicted are vindicated, we cannot allow this to just "fade away". The fight for the truth has been kept up for nearly seven years and must be kept up for another seven or seventy if that's what it takes.

OT: FYI, JZ says Newsweek article is still a go. (edit: Story now spiked)

This poster is a bot. It copied the text from this article: http://www.deadspin.com/5856777/a-guide-to-the-sexual-child-abuse-charges-against-jerry-sandusky-and-to-penn-states-alleged-willful-ignorance

    OT: Here's the JZ/RC article - from JZ's website:

I know this post is a bit tongue-in-cheek, but there's actually a lot of truth in it. Tim Curley owed his career to Joe Paterno's success as head football coach (and frankly to Jerry Sandusky's success as defensive coordinator). He would absolutely maintain loyalty to JVP and protect him. This...

OT: FYI, JZ says Newsweek article is still a go. (edit: Story now spiked)

The point is that not having done anything illegal or immoral has nothing to do with charges being brought against you in Pennsylvania, as was the pattern in this ordeal.

With, Iowa, Ohio State, Wisconsin, and Michigan State coming to HV - who do we WhiteOut?

It should be noted that any guesses on kickoff times at this point are complete speculation (except the Friday Illinois game, and probably the Pitt game kicking off at noon). With Big Ten selection very evenly split between ESPN and Fox, the time slot for a "top pick" could be anywhere...

    NCAA in trouble

The G League by itself? Not really (though maybe on par with early-season NBA, and likely better than preseason NBA). I think G League teams squaring off against high-level NCAA teams in October/November would definitely generate interest, at least as much as current NCAA games, if not more...

    NCAA in trouble

Since there's a collectively bargained contract, the NBA owners and players have a lot of latitude in setting things like age restrictions that other corporations typically wouldn't. What's on shakier ground is the NCAA's ability to forbid student-athletes from pursuing revenue streams. The...

Another 57 victims testifying tomorrow (Weds, 1/31) against Larry Nassar

It's not about gloating. It's about painting a picture of what happened in MSU to contrast it to what happened at Penn State. There are reports of abuse that were handled appropriately (Spanier, Schultz, Curley, Paterno), and those that were handled the wrong way (Simon, Hollis, Klages...

From CBS: ...Things to remember as we transition into the 2018 off season

It'd be nice if he could play 9 games against Big XII teams to pad his stats, but unfortunately the Big Ten does play some semblance of defense for the most part. Keeping pace stat-wise against players from other conferences will be the biggest hurdle to the Heisman.

    Another Sandusky settlement....for 2007.

In 2008? The mayors of Philadelphia and Pittsburgh (and probably some other Pennsylvania municipalities) were sworn in around that time, along with the governors of a handful of states (not Pennsylvania), but the swearing-in for most politicians would have been in January 2009 (following the...

Where to buy College Football Jerseys Online?

The NCAA/member universities got dinged a few years back for selling jerseys with high-profile players' numbers on them without giving those players a cut of the profits. Instead of doing the sensible thing and setting up a method to compensate such players for profiting off their likenesses...

SI has us in the Orange Bowl vs Miami

http://grfx.cstv.com/photos/schools/big10/sports/m-footbl/auto_pdf/2017-18/misc_non_event/Bowl-Determination-Procedures.pdf The CFP bowl committees decided to let the Fiesta/Cotton/Peach Bowls have a shot at the SEC and Big Ten Champions when the Sugar/Rose Bowls are playoff games, as they...
