Penn State Q&A: Brandon Short on football spending, the board of trustees, Micah Parsons and more

Brandon is entirely WRONG when he states that PSU Athletics budget is completely independent of the rest of the University. The fact is, the University, not PSU Athletics, borrowed the $48 million via a taxable bond offering in early 2020. The University, not PSU Athletics, is obligated to...

BOT Elections. Anyone know who PS4RS is supporting and why?

I believe they ran into a technical problem and are in the process of re-posting.

Listen to the response to the question regarding Board reform at 1:06 hours. Wagman says the current Board size is necessary, contrary to the Auditor Generals Reports. Also at 1:12 hours listen to the response to the question, would you repudiate the Freeh Report? Wagman says NO, we need to...

With the Benefit of Hindsight - Ziegler's new documentary podcast on scandal to start in 2021

Tim met with Joe as we all know. The substance of that discussion was simply this— Joe believed that ALL parties should be informed, not just the ones contemplated. In other words, Jerry should be told too. Joe NEVER suggested to Tim that he should not tell certain people or organizations. Not...

    Rasir Bolton available in portal

Pat Chambers, in my opinion, was unjustly treated. At a minimum he was not afforded due process. Eric Barron, Sandy Barbour, Lynn Holleran and a member of the BOT should be ashamed of themselves. The rush to political correctness is indicative of the lack of leadership at Penn State. By the...

I VOTED AGAINST THE $49 MILLION LASCH EXPANSION— THIS IS THE EXPLANATION FOR MY VOTE

These are the comments I made prior to my decision to vote AGAINST the proposed $49 million Lasch Building renovations. My fellow Trustees, I stand opposed to this resolution at this time. My reasons are twofold. The first financial while the second is more philosophical. As Pennsylvania's...

    Lasch update

I said no such thing. My concern centers around the timing and funding source. With all of the uncertainties facing us we should wait a year. Plus, we’re depending on debt financing rather than philanthropy.

Can't believe it has been 9 years.

Yes, I have always found strange the notion that ALL members of the BOT were unaware of the Ganim story. Joe was a truly special human being and his leadership is missed today.

    7 years ago today...Bill O’Brien announces he’s leaving PSU

As an aside, when Bill left, I urged Joyner to rehire Vanderlinden to his former coaching position because Ron was such a positive influence. Of course my urging was to no avail.

First, Happy New Year! No I am not. However, he had a hand in the decision along with Mr. Breem. No question Joyner was the “mastermind.”

    7 years ago today...Bill O’Brien announces he’s leaving PSU

Bill was put in a difficult position. First, he was following Joe. Second, he felt like he had three bosses— Ira Lubert, Dave Joyner and Rod Erickson. Finally, he had to deal with the sanctions. Bill is a football coach. His players at PSU truly loved him. Bill did not enjoy other aspects of...

    Freeh Resolution

I attended Dr Spanier’s trial. I listened to all the testimony including that of Tim and Gary. Laura Ditka was not pleased with their testimony. They did not corroborate the state’s case. In fact, they weren’t even sure what they had agreed to in terms of wrongdoing. I have no doubt that...

    Freeh Resolution

Unfortunately, the legal process was anything but a slam dunk. Moreover, we were still precluded from sharing any information publicly. We clearly learned much more from the effort than we knew prior to the effort. As for my efforts as a Trustee, I respect your opinion. However, I disagree.
